German media going beserk because Papy Djilobodji from Werder did the "Kopf-ab-Geste"

Let's be honest, if it was a white player who did it it would be a non-story.

I hope this clown is banned for at least 5 games. Should've been a penalty, too.

I really hope this Bundesliga season doesn't have yet another anti-climactic ending, with Bayern just winning it. Hopefully Dortmund keeps winning (of course), and some teams can take a few points off Bayern along the way.

Are you Bosnian, mate? I remember reading posts from you about Bosnia.

I'm from there. Moved to Germany during the war(very young) and now I live in Scandinavia.

My interest for HSV started because of Barbarez.

I am, indeed. My family also moved to Germany to escape the war, and I was born in Dresden about a year later. We spent a few years there before moving to the States.

Yes, I remember how revered Barbarez was by our people during his playing days, the love for Hamburg makes complete sense.

Yeah, it was a terrific era. We also had Salihamidzic winning everything with Bayern. Watched so many HSV and Bayern games as a kid those years.

DFL terminated the final games of the season.
Bremen vs Stuttgart(32nd game) will be played on a monday night.

Both teams didn't like it at all and I guess that's a foreshadowing of the new tv deal the league wants to work out, including games on Monday and other starts during the weekend, to try and make more money.

BTW:
There's an article by Bild today that Granit Xhaka's management supposedly met with Arsene Wenger during the weekend and that Arsenal would be willing to pay about €43M for the swiss international.
Nice starting point to negotiations, if true...

Also, Martin Stranzl and Tony Jantschke of Borussia Mönchengladbach are back in team training, returning from their long term injuries.

God, I hope not. I already hate the friday night games, Monday would be completely unnecessary.

Don't think it's foreshadowing anything tbh.

I like Monday, though. Not like there's anything you can do on a Monday evening anyway. So why not watch a game. :dontknow:

It only sucks for away fans and children.

Bild is reporting Dortmund want Götze back.

Not sure whether I would spend a huge amount of money on him at this point. His body seems to be damaged goods.

Would they get better ratings if they moved the "Topspiel" to 20:30 instead of the awful 18:30 time slot?

They should do like in America. Have that one big game on national TV Saturday night on ARD or ZDF. And then the rest on Sky. Basically the same thing they're doing with CL at the moment.

If I'm not mistanken I think they'll have Friday night games in the Premier League next season.

Which is bad for the Bundesliga because they'll have to compete with the PL on Friday night as well. With Guardiola and Mourinho coming in, Klopp already there and probably a big chunk of German/Bundesliga stars arriving(Götze, Gundogan etc.) it will be tough.

I mean would Mainz - Hoffenheim(just an example) get higher ratings in Germany than Liverpool would with Klopp, Götze and Ter Stegen feauturing? I dont know.

Hopefully soon the EPL will have enough german influence so you can stop following the BuLi altogether!

EPL has been on Sky/Premiere Germany for many years.
Though, they lost their rights starting next season and a group called Perform won it.
Perform also holds the rights to La Liga, Serie A, NBA, NFL etc. and might want to take a look at the Bundesliga rights after the next tv deal runs out.

BTW: Seems like Gladbach have signed Tobias Strobl of Hoffenheim to replace Harvard Nordtveit.
Strobl got the attention of our scouts as they were scouting Volland and Amiri.

I only watch HSV and Bayern. Sometimes Dortmund.

The league is poor atm. I cannot believe how a team like Hertha are 3rd.
