Melo Trimble is losing while Maryland wins. Guards make money in the tournament or lose it.

Hope we can do a better job on the boards. UMDs ace in the hole could be drawing whistles and scoring free points at the line.

Nah, the only thing that will matter some is how well he plays in Maryland's last game. Today, UMCP won and Bobbitt didn't do much.

I see him as a smaller less skilled version of Marc Gasol who doesnt rebound. In this hyper athletic warp speed NBA I don't see how a player like Stone fits in. In 1990 he'd be an ideal PF.
WizDynasty, wherever he is & God rest his soul, always made a big deal about quick twitch athleticism. I'm still not totally sure what that means, but w/e it is Stone lacks any quick twitch athleticism.
If Mitch McGary can be drafted 21st by OKC, Stone can have a nice career. He's not an amazing athlete but he's got a 7'4 wingspan and it's not like he's out of shape.
He just turned 19. Trimble is 21.
Diamond is a real young pup who I would also compare him to Demarcus Cousins. He has perimeter and ball handling skills that Maryland's horrible offense doesn't showcase.
Stone and Carter are very good offensively. Their offensive system stifles a bit their true gifts IMO. Turgeon has coached them down IMO.

You know who else this very board compared to Demarcus Cousins a few years ago? Kevin snaky Seraphin!! I think Seraphin is a good pro comp to Stone b/c I don't see a ton of effort or results on the glass, and more often than not Stone has a deer in the headlights look on the defensive end (very reminiscent of Seraphin). Maryland's development of Diamond Stone has nothing to do with rebounding. He's so physically imposing he should dominate the glass. Rebounding is nearly 100% effort & passion. Stone will get drafted and likely in the lottery, but I don't think he'll be a player in the league because there I don't see teams willing to play a plodding big man that doesn't gobble up every rebound or play exceptional defense.
That said I love the Terps and hope for the best tomorrow night. I'll be cheering for Stone and rest of the Terps till the end.

Terps?
Charlie Ward's gotta be the answer to a lot of trivia questions. It's amazing what he accomplished.
