I've only seen two of his games but it seems like he's really trying out there and he's active and hustling, so that's good.
That team really couldn't get much more dysfunctional at this point anyway. Basically the team just doesn't pass the ball to Dwight, Dwight gets pissy and gives zero effort, and Harden jacks up a bunch of contested shots. Terrible.

How is he any different from Nick young? dude could score 30 ppg if given the green light to shoot. I don't see any love for Swaggy P for doing the same thing.

This.
People complain about him 'still' being a ballhog, without noticing they are staging his and Harden's minutes more. They basically gave him the green light to shoot midrange J. Hey, if someone is allowed by Moray to shoot midrange, that means he is allowed to do anything right?
Quite a few of his shot attempts came off his own misses from offensive board, that also means dude is trying hard. I am concerned he might get distracted by something at some point, just like how his career went, but let's hope that's not the case. His talent alone says he should have a shot at NBA.

Younger, bigger, way more athletic. Smoother mid range? (seems to be) passing a bit more?
Young is not supposed to take shots away from Russell/Clarkson/Randell etc, Beasley I wish he takes all the shots from Brewer

Re: Michael Beasley is a gangster
Most of the Rockets fans that I know love him, I don't get the hate at all lol. It's not like he's just scoring, he's actually defending/giving effort on scrappy plays - things that most people won't believe until they watch the actual games.
+/-? FG%? If you actually watch the games and not vines/highlights/boxscores, these are not empty stats.....at all. Except the Grizzlies game where HOU was up by like 50+ all other games were Houston as a team sucked (@CHA, vs LAC, @ATL)
That Boston game where he had 19 attempts, 3 of those were like off offensive boards and 1 of those was an easy bunny that he missed (could've been fouled, whatever) but he was huge in sparking the Rockets to that W. Might seem like "blackhole" for some, but that's EXACTLY why Houston brought him in.....to put the ball in the basket, to get buckets. He wasn't signed to play D lol, and the Rockets aren't exactly a defensive team either so his D gets blended in there and he appears to be a nice fit as long as he gets buckets
Last night vs. Hawks he was the reason they were even in the game in the 4th...in a back-to-back coming off a game vs. MIN where he was actually in the finishing line-up to seal the deal and had a couple of huge baskets to contribute to the W
And this is him just being slowly inserted into the rotation. Him and Harden are developing nice chemistry so far. Remember, they got him for the minimum and got a TO for next season. I hope Beas keeps this production up, really would love to see supercool succeed in the league man

Upon watching and rewatching the game a lot of it is actually Dwight helping off strong side shooters (big no no) and refusing to leave the paint regardless of where his guy went. That caused a lot of problems

You can really tell apart the people who actually watched Beasley play this year, and those who dont, and judge him from his past reputation.

Hate people keeps reminding me the December game, where Horford shot 11-15(5-7 from 3) and won the game despite Korver went 0-10

Beasley at least puts forth a token effort at doing other things on the floor besides shooting, specifically rebounding. When he's hungry, Beasley will also attack the rim, while Young intentionally searches out 20-footers and does nothing else.

Re: Michael Beasley is a gangster
Beasley belongs in the NBA talent-wise. Not many out there with that kind of natural scoring arsenal. Most Miami fans root for him and understand Beasley still has lots of work to do in understanding how to play and win consistently in the NBA where most everyone is as talented as he is. The kid tries, I'll give him that. Miami worked with him for years and it seemed like the only thing stopping Beasley was Beasley himself. I believe he has matured some but it was best for both Miami and Beasley to move on from each other. I think Houston might have a locker room environment that might fit Beasley better right now. Hopefully he finds a home in the NBA.

he looks very comfortable alongside harden. His ambidexterity is also pretty crazy. Now that the nba has almost completely switched to a smallball league he can really thrive with his combination of size, agility and skill
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Re: Michael Beasley is a gangster
I think eventually the ball-stopping will become a problem for this team but right now the bench squad needs scoring and Beasley is the right guy for the job. Beasley is also rebounding well, defending in an above average way, hitting free throws (this is really big for this Rockets team), and not causing any drama on or off the court. I'd like to see him look to get his teammates involved before the scouting reports get updated and teams start trapping and doubling Beasley every time he touches the ball. The way he's playing right now reminds me of that really nice stretch he had in Minnesota back in 2011.
Edit: just to add to this a little, how often does the Chinese league have such a positive impact on a fringe NBA player? Beasley's confidence is through the roof.

We've already seen situations where Beasley was given the green light to shoot, 10-11 with the Wolves being the most prominent, and he took 19.0 FGA/36 and shot 45/37/75, 51% TS, 100 Ortg, averaged 3.0 tov/36 and scored 21.4 pts/36.
He also had 14 games of 28+ points and 8 games of 30+ points that season. He took 20+ FGA twenty three times that year.
Now of course maybe Beasley has drastically improved, but it certainly was not winning anyone games back then giving him the green light, and if you did so enough for him to average 30 ppg, it would first of all not be for the purpose of winning anything based on history, and secondly would just not look good because of the isolation heavy game and little shot creating for others he would achieve. Now of course if he's developed into this player that can score 30 ppg efficiently over a season, then that's a different situation and very interesting, but I don't know about that.
So Beasley can't even do it. He isn't that different from Young as right now we are going off of an 8 game sample size.
Good for him and the Rockets though, but that team is going to need a decent amount of adjustments this off-season.

Re: Michael Beasley is a gangster
I think he is good and helps the Rockets (at least so far) but he SHOULD NOT start or close games. I see why he was still in against the Hawks, no one else could score in the fourth, but I hope him closing isn't a common thing, not his role. Should either be small with Ariza at the four or Dmo

because nick young hasn't even gotten close to shooting at or above 50%

He's always had the talent.. What's nuts is he can still, even now, become a good player in this league, he's only 27ish? Not saying great but good..
