Slightly above average for a 23 old true 7 footer is damn good value alone. If you're willing to say Sap is improving at age 31, then I'm pretty sure a 23 old can do even more as far as improvements and getting better.

I don't think you told us anything. I think what happened was that Atlanta wanted to keep this core of players period. If we're sitting on a gold mine of talent, then we should be battling for the #1 seed in the East at least, but hey, you're R.C Buford(who achieved what he has up to now because his team tanked after Robinson went out), and we're Billy Knight.

Mentally, he's soft, doesn't fit our system, is a bigger, more talented Tiago with far less BBIQ than Splitter. As someone who watches NBA games, I shake my head at awful opinions from some of our fans.

The NBA isn't point blank. Last year we 60-22 and peaked in January. This year we are 40-29 and probably will peak into June. I do think we have enough. I do value our talent. If a move is made, we need the needed value. We aren't much different than Dallas during their years of success.

Tim Duncan might have helped unquestionably helped the Spurs dominance over the last 17 years but that doesn't explain how they built a new generation after the Duncan era which we all know is currently over. That's on making extremely smart moves. Not making terrible dim witted moves like you are suggesting we do. Let us great moves. To then go on an say that one year of Sap is worth a top 2 pick at minimum is absurd. You have to be smoking some good ish to believe that. I think your homerism is getting in the way of what real value is.

If I'm getting a top 10 pick in any draft for a one year rental of Milsap, then I'm taking it. Add in a slightly above average, young center as well with a late pick, and clicking the accept button instantly.

We don't even know if Horford will even be back next year. Hell, we need to peak as high as Dallas did in '11 when they won it all to even justify having a shot at winning a title with this group and we don't have a Dirk.

We're a good team, and may even revert back to the 60 win team we were last year, but if we're not winning a title this year, it may be time to start fresh with a new group of players. Sap is 31, KK is 35, Horford is 30 and may not even be back. We have to get younger, and look towards the future before it's to late.

The Spurs have been able to do what they have because Duncan has always been a significant factor. We don't have a Duncan or Dirk.

The positive move for Jonas would be if we retained AL at PF. Then you finally get a semi true center and AH can play PF. But , I would say given how well our front office drafts (sarcasm), i would NOT do that deal.

I think you are confusing GETTING BETTER with HIS NUMbERS ARE LARGELY THE SAME OVER HIS PAST 6 SEASONS.

Millsap has always been this guy, hes a 17/9 guy. Period. Hes not gotten "better".

To be fair, Jonas has largely been the same the last 3 seasons as well. But again, see previous post.

I'm just going to give my two cents on the Durant thing... Take it for what it is.. Just an opinion.

On his choice of gsw or okc..
I don't think GS would, or should, go after Durant. To do so, they would have to get rid of a few of their key personnel just to fit him in. That changes the whole core of a team. GS has been a great team because they kept adding without subtracting, getting better while not taking a step back. Maybe the best way to put it is "if it's not broke, don't fix it".

The core of this group is strong, and it would only take a minor move to afford both he and Horford to come back (move splitter somehow, even if it includes a pick). He would come into a situation where everyone already plays well together. Not only that, but the organization has already proven to make players better just by being here. Carroll, bazemore, Scott, hardaway etc.. Have all benifited from being part of the Hawks. I think his game could even get better than what it is already if he joins us.

Do I think it will happen... No... But there is a case to be made.

This draft features quite a few good role players, and foreigners to gamble on.

In the grand scheme of things, we would suck enough to get a top pick in 2017, and be making a Braves like re-tool/rebuild to stock the shelf with quality talent on top of what we already have with Jonas, Dennis, Walter, and Hardaway.

That would be a great deal for ATL. One thing I notice that hasn't been brought up is Millsap could opt out in 2017 and leave. It makes me wonder what his long term priorities is. I don't blame him for picking ATL over ORL this past summer but going in 2017-18, would he stay with Bud or try to team up with one of the top superstars who is a FA that summer.

Getting back to topic, it's so many question marks. Would Teague actually want to leave ATL? I know he wanted to go to the Bucks a few years ago but Drew is gone, the same GM is still there though but since then Teague has blossomed into an All-Star.

I'm not sure about that. Teague probably will be cheaper to keep than Dennis. Bud seems to prefer vets over younger players. Dennis probably could get a nice return in a trade this summer but I think they'll keep both to start the season.

I figured Millsap would opt out to get the Hawks to pay him more money. Probably would get a max deal starting at 30 mil from the Hawks.

Yeah their player development worries me, besides Baze breaking into the starting lineup, there really isn't a young piece in the starting lineup I could see having a superstar impact like Kawhi as Horford/Millsap/Korver exit their prime.
