So quietly and seemingly under everyones radar is Andre Drummonds offensive rebounding streak of 400 or more per season.
How good is he at it?
Last two seasons for Andre is total of offensive rebounds;
13-14 440
14-15 437
So far this year he has 353 with 10 games to go and is averaging 5 offensive rebounds per game.
So how rare is what he is doing?
The last time any player before Andre Drummond the past two seasons had even one season with 400+ offensive rebounds was 1997-98 season was Jayson Williams.
The last time a player had two season in a row with 400+?
32 years ago. Moses Malone did it 5 years in a row.
Andre is already only the third player in NBA history to do it two years in a row since the NBA started recording offensive rebounding in the 67-68 season.
If he gets 400 or more this year he and Moses Malone will be the only players in NBA history to have done it 3 or more times in a row.
To put into perspective just how good Andre is at grabbing offensive rebounds, Dennis Rodman whom many think of as the best rebounder in NBA history only ever managed the feat twice in his career. Andre is on the verge of doing three times in a row
Andre needs 47 more offensive rebounds to make it happen! GET IT DONE.

Re: Andre Drummond streak watch.
Good research Zeeb... something worth tracking for the remaining games.
I think Rodman and Ben were equally effective at offensive rebounds... the difference was that they would get two or three tap outs to teammates per game.
Another underrated feature to Dre's O-boards are his tap in conversion rate... amazingly soft touch for a big man.
Moses was primarily an under the rim rebounder (he could get up in his early years)... he wasn't overly athletic either... his technique, tenacity and leverage was what set this 6' 10" player apart.

Post this on the GB. Andre gets bashed because of his FT%, even by our own fans. This is a very impressive feat.

369 with 7 games to go.pollack419 wrote:Where is Dre at now?
He needs to average 4.5 a game to land another 400 offensive rebound season.
What im hoping is that he gets one of his 10 offensive rebound games in the game against the Mavs. I mean he needs to get under his average but if he sits a game or something it could hurt his chances.
This looks like a lock but you never know.
