Giant scrub per 36 minutes: 22 pts, 15.1 reb, 28.9 PER
Whiteside per 36 minutes: 17.1 pts, 14.6 reb, 25.2 PER

And obviously Boban can't outplay Hassan for 29 mpg, but he only needed to do it for 12 minutes

I'm telling you, it sounds like loser talk but the officiating had a big impact on this game. San Antonio outscored us at the line 20-7. I'm not saying we win without that... but its definitely a whole different ballgame.

Also what you were saying KingDavid about us being soft, eh, maybe a little bit, but I think guys like Richardson and Winslow are afraid to go all out because they get hamstrung by whistles, and guys like a Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, they don't play with that fear because they know they'll get that respect. I'm not saying we don't have that, Dwyane gets that respect (well, he used to)... but our rooks definitely don't, and they are a big part of this team. Hassan is starting to, so that helps as well.

I do agree Goran in the halfcourt is a scary proposition though. Saying "we have to run" sounds good, but the running game CAN be stopped and controlled if a team really wants to, and you have to be solid in the halfcourt.

I didn't see the game, but can't say I'm surprised. Spurs are on a historic pace, but whenever I speak on Goran's inability to get it done in the halfcourt dudes act like they're 6 and I'm telling them Santa isn't real.

I don't mind giving him the benefit of the doubt for this one since the Spurs are a great team, but it is becoming a trend. I think the problem is people assuming incorrectly that everytime we slow down now its the team's fault, and its dragging Goran down, but if you watched this game that wasn't the case, San Antonio was just great at getting back on defense, and Dragic looked flustered and confused in the halfcourt.

Stats tend to drop when you play, idk, 36 minutes. He's still a scrub.

First this is not an excuse for his ( Dragic ) last nights performance, it was poor. But I've noticed teams stared to cover him more tightly and in the case of the spurs they ran him on defense, he had to fight over 2-3 blocks at times. The teams know he's our only true PG and our game falters when he goes out ( on most nights ) and they try to take advantage of that. At least the well coached ones do. Now I'd like us to try something like that sometimes, but we rarely do. We did it once ( that I can remember) with putting Deng in the post but it didn't work well (lol). We can beat the spurs if everyone comes to play, not just two and a half players. This lose is on the team, not any individual player ( tho JJ and Dragic did stand out as a negative). As for Dragic and half court. Yes he's worse than in open court, but he still gets guys set up and we play better (on avarage) when he's in.

We can't beat the Spurs even if we're healthy.

Kawhi/LMA/TD vs Joe/Deng/Bosh?

Joe and Deng would get taken to slaughter in that matchup.

Most players stats tend to drop off. Hassan seems to be living up to his per36 extrapolations though.

I'm really not gonna read into that game yesterday. Hassan always struggles on B2B's and he basically blew his load in the 1st half. He didn't pace himself at all. He was gassed in the 2nd, I was surprised Spo left him in there as long as he did.

2 seasons ago Dragic was 1 half of the most efficient pick&roll tandem in the league with Frye. They scored more pts per possession than Westbrook and Durant.

Dragic's a very good pick&roll PG and a great pick&pop PG. These 2 plays are what a lot of the halfcourt game runs on in the NBA. It's too simplistic and in fact completely wrong to claim Dragic's not able to get it done in the halfocurt.

Dragic/Whiteside pick&roll game's been great after the All star break. Dragic/STAT pick&roll also looks like one of the most efficient plays Miami runs in the beginning of many games. Dragic looks pretty able to me in those sets.

Dragic is of course better in the open court. He's one of the best in the league in the open court. But that doesn't automatically mean his halfcourt game sucks. I really don't know what is this notion based on. Certainly not on facts. We can talk about his poor 3 point shooting this season. If his shot was at least at his career averages that would make him even more dangerous in the halfcourt, but again, that doesn't mean Dragic can't play a slower halfcourt game. He's too good of an all-around player to claim something like that.

Meh, we beat them when it mattered. We have a trophy to prove it. They have a hard-on for us because of that, and for the fact that we're the only team to defeat them in the Finals. Luckily, we only have to face them twice a year.

Catching the Spurs on the second night of a back-to-back is always tough, especially on the road. But our core issues showed up yet again. We didn't defend well, which hurt our chances to get out and run. The few opportunities we had to run were mostly taken away by the Spurs, who knew very well that this is how we hurt teams.

At the same time, Goran was a horrible point guard tonight. Particulary when D-Wade and JJ are on the floor, he has options in the halfcourt. He can't constantly attempt to break their defense down and waste the shotclock not doing anything. It was always known that this was one of his main weaknesses, but we have to adapt to it. We have two other players in the starting five who can trigger our offense, we have to take advantage of that.

I won't mind losing to them in the finals this year too much.

Do the stats show that Dragic is a better first half player than second half?
