Btw, those were pretty bad manners from Mirotic.

Kp let him hit all those 3s, so he can get his carrer high, but he didn't fouled him in the end, so he himself can get 30.. I hope KP told him that..

It should of always been a big part of the offense considering we had so many guys who were good shooters.

Tell me the time when you went through what KP has. Since some of you fancy yourselves iron men. Playing 14 mpg on your 5-18 JV team doesn't count.

Ha, goodnight.

Ha you have no clue man. I actually played a D1 sport. Went through a lot of injuries and illnesses in 4 years. It is what it is. What I did has nothing to do with KP though so I don't see why that's relevant. You seem to have a real attachment to the dude. Me nor Breezey want KP to fail we've just pointed out his shortcomings but, apparently if you say a bad word about KP it gets you crucified around here. I've commented on melo's shortcomings too and everyone else's it's not a special hate for KP it's just being real. This board did the same thing with Shump, Landry, etc. It's time we be real. While you guys will get emotional if KP doesn't live up to GOAT expectations I'll be happy because I realize his floor is like Serge Ibaka and then I'll be the one defending him on here while everyone rags on him. I've seen it too many times...

What we learned last night:
. Give Melo a legit second option and the floor opens up for the entire team. KP will be everyone's focus and rightfully so, this was what he looked like early in the year. But D-Will (5/7), AA (13 points, 7 assists, 8 boards), Grant (8 pts, 3 boards), RoLo (11,13) and even Jose (11,8,4) all took advantage of a defense that was consistently spread thin.

. KP catching the ball in motion is damn near unstoppable. Using fast breaks to establish post position makes no sense when he can spot up as a trailer or make a HARD cut to rack and dunk on anybody since he's 7'3 and all. He gets to the line or scores in most motion situations and that cut across the paint to catch, turn and shoot is easy buckets for him at least once or twice a game.

. KP's defense was better last night than it's been in at least a month. 0 blocks is hiding just how much of a rim protector he was. Portis tried to do the bully him in the paint thing and missed a bunch of shots inside, KP challenged Brooks and Drose on multiple drives (varying levels of success) and KP's interior defense led to a lot of easy rebounds to the tune of 10 boards all night.

. KP playing big with RoLo playing like he has since January is a truly scary tandem. 23 rebounds between these two guys, a ton of shots challenged in the paint and even though we got beat in most team stats (assists, TO's, FTA's, threes), our rebounding advantage and FG% opened it all up.

. Grant has been looking much better of late in his all around play. Going out on a limb here and making a prediction, but I think both our rookies will show accelerated improvement. KP's stamina alone can make him a bigger impact player through consistency, strength and skill improvements will really help that. Grant's a workhorse and you can see in games that he has worked on his weaknesses, he can finally catch and shoot respectably well! These two are BOTH promising, so don't just zero in on your boy KP because Grant has low key improved a LOT.

. If you make AA a 6th man, he's a problem. Not the most efficient scorer but against second units, he can eat in so many ways and he just steadies the bench a bit (chicken or the egg here but I think D-Will's getting better looks lately and not sure if that's an AA thing until I focus on it more closely).

. I hate Sasha, but he did the pest thing well last night and I'd feel bad ignoring that since I hate on him so hard usually.

. Galloway is still very much a developmental player...he's playing like a young guy with no confidence a lot lately, his jumper has failed him and his defense is hot and cold as opposed to last year when that was where his real value lied. But his upside is real, he can be a good defender and he has the form to be a good shooter; he plays a pretty controlled game for the most part minus some reckless forced fast breaks; and you can build on all of that.

. Seraphin can kick rocks.

. Not Knicks related, but Taj Gibson is such a head scratcher player to me. Dude looks like a stud and a starter most of his time off the bench but whenever his role expands to starter duties he looks somewhere between below average and average. It's strange.

The KP trailer dunk is almost a move now. Remember when he missed like his first three attempts this season and we were all waiting for him to land one? Now he throws them all down.

They shot extremely well from three - unnaturally well for most of the night.

Still, a win is a win. I still didn't like much of KP's shot selection, but at least last night he was hitting the threes.

KP should tell the Olympic committee that he will play in 2020 - but that he needs to do important work on his game this summer. He's young enough where he can play for them in Olympics to come.

his what?! Come on bro... Ibaka? KP is a shoting guard in a 7'3 body who can actually shoot but you give him that floor.

D1 isnt the NBA. It isnt 82 games and moving to a new country with the weight of the world on your shoulders as a stringbean rookie. Thats the point. Yet some of you want to call him soft. Nah man. I've criticized Kris myself plenty, as you know, but there's a difference.

I remember a few of us called Breezy out b/c he was getting on/blaming KP for a loss in a game thread, for making a few mistakes in the 4th after a good game... in the 2nd week of the season, and was completely serious. All in the name of "being reasonable".

While you were incredibly quick to start questioning how good he will be a long time ago as soon as he hit the wall a bit. Not the same thing as Melo at all, who's 32. It's not my problem you don't want to get hurt by another rookie not living up again, and are trying to temper your/everyone else's expectations. I'll be fine if he doesnt become the chimaera, so dont worry about me.

I know Kris will be a very good player no matter what, because he's already very good. It's only a matter of how much better he gets. Sh*t he's prob already better than Ibaka, who has been pretty disappointing this year as every Thunder fan will tell you.

It goes in the opposite direction too, as most of this board completely gave up on Jerian so fast and now he's playing much better. The lesson is patience.

Serge shot 37 percent from 3 last year on more than 3 attempts. He's a solid jumpshooter. I'm saying that's the worst he becomes. Serge is really good.

i haven't wanted to say it with all the hate around here but this team is a lot better than their record

the Bulls are as well

since were out of the playoffs wouldn't it be nice for a change to deny a team like the bulls a trip there?
if we win tonight we push Chi 1.5 games out of 8th behind Det with Wash closing in from behind

its amazing that one of those three teams at least won't make the playoffs

Sasha played well on defense. He still shouldn't see minutes for the rest of the season.. Grant not playing more is a crime.

Melo looked energized..

Evevryone on post game is salivating that that will be his go to move. Simple turn around and shoot over his defender with that soft touch. Dreamy.

Whats very good to see is that we are actually looking for KP and setting him up in pick and roll A LOT more. I would like to see Grant play major minutes. I mean Barry said it would be a crime not to give him big minutes down the stretch because we are not fighting for anything. Grant has looked much better though.

Shouts to Grant. .455 FG% in February and .473 in March. 5 threes this month, 10 the other months combined. Also back to back games with 2 3pt FGM. Has not made 2 3's in a game previously all year. Give that man those minutes.
