Terps are gonna spank Kansas. Trimble, Stone, Carter, Layman playing well ...
They got this one coming up.

Nah, the only thing that will matter some is how well he plays in Maryland's last game. Today, UMCP won and Bobbitt didn't do much.
That's fair- but you have to admit that Melo isn't "outplaying" his opponents. I want Melo to have a Kemba tournament!
He WILL starting today ... (I hope and pray)

No love for the Terps on nbadraft.net
They have Trimble going #37 in round 2. Stone they have going #26.
REAL NEGATIVE write-up on Stone.
Honestly, I bet all three of Trimble, Stone, and Layman get drafted. Wouldn't shock me if Layman, when all is said and done, doesn't sneak into the mid-2nd round and possibly late 1st.

The last time I checked, DX had Stone and Trimble going in the first round, Layman will probably get a camp invite or be a late 2nd rounder.
On a side-note, with Beal being a bet as a max player, this draft would have been fine for auditioning a young SG or Big.
Edit: Stone and Trimble both dropped on DX, Stone @23, Trimble @ 35.

Turgeon's not a good offensive coach. Trimble stunk it up in the second half.
Layman is going to be a decent NBA player. Way better than his Terps play.

Trimble blew it. I hope he moves on, regardless.

Trimbles stock is sinking quickly IMO. He's not athletic. Small frame. Streaky shooter. Good in the PnR. I don't think he's an early/mid first round pick. I think at best he becomes a Ramon Sessions type player.

Yup, not a good night for him especially since he didn't make his 3s and even a few of his free throws.

Yeah, Trimble looks he would be drafted in the 2nd round. If he stayed another year, he might improve his 3 point shot although if he doesn't, there's a good chance he wouldn't even be drafted.

Re: Official Maryland Terps Thread 3.0
Terps have no offensive system whatsoever and it's been like that all season. They didn't even have anything resembling an offense for about an hour tonight. The same scoring droughts and the same crappy Trimble-Carter two man game.
Very underwhelming team with the expectations back in the Fall.

Yup, that's the big takeaway from watching the Terps this season, Turgeon's offense sucks. Trimble and Stone should return next year.

On one hand everyone says trimble sucks. On the other, everyone is saying turgeons offense sucks. Does trimble suck b/c the offense, or does the offense suck b/c trimble?
More than anything this team is soft. Everything about them is soft. Their rebounding is soft, their defense is soft, even when they foul, its soft. It became embarrassing how Ellis created deep position all night, threw his body at the defender to create separation and put up an uncontested bunny every play.
I'll miss Suliman and Layman.

Other than injury, there's no way this team isn't making a deep tournament run.
Ahhhh... And back when Haskins was still committed and recruiting the entire state to play ball at UMD.

It is looking that way - that he's not a real PG, and neither is Sessions. They're players who create for themselves much more than for their teammates. But they've got to have the ball to be effective. That's fine when they're on, but when they're off, it'd be nice to have them playing with a true PG who can distribute the ball elsewhere. Actually, I think Sessions is most effective when he's playing with Wall, and maybe with Cowan coming in next season, that'll be a better fit for Trimble than Sulaimon was. But really, they need 3 point shooting. Hopefully, Wiley and the freshman shooting guard they got help.
I never got a good handle on Layman, because I kept expecting him to blow up as a 3 point shooter, but it never really happened. Otoh, he showed glimpses of being a player who can drive to the basket and play better defense than he showed in previous years. There's talent there; I just don't know what his game or position is. People are talking about him as a stretch 4, but I don't see it. He's a tall 3 who's got to get more consistent with his 3 point shot. If he works hard, he can make it in the NBA. If he doesn't work hard, he definitely won't make it.
