I don't know why the Jazz and Pelicans were favored to make the POs over us, I didn't think they were better than this team to start the year. The Jazz are star deficient and non-existent on offense. While the Pelicans are a mad puppeteers project of injury riddled players.

Jazz were viewed as a team on the rise. They were in the playoff hunt last year, full of young players, it was only natural to think they'd be better this year. But they look exactly the same. Surprises me at least.

Pelicans made the playoffs last year in spite of injury issues. Another young team that was expected to be better. Remember how Davis was the best player in the league? But they have not been good at all. They need to do some major repairs to that roster before Davis loses confidence in management.

It was the safe prediction to make. Writers saw the turnaround with Portland losing four fifths of their starters and assumed it would be a rebuild from the bottom up with so many new faces. And let's face it, in here we had them pegged as a bottom team and called Olshey's off season signings "dumpster diving", meaning going for cheap role players.

The Jazz and Pelicans at least had more of a returning core. By the way, has anyone noticed this Green kid that Memphis plucked for next to nothing? Boy is he playing well lately.

Yeah but at the beginning of the season I never bought the Jazz hype. They were everyones pick to replace us since we lost LMA and Wes/Rolo. No one seemed to care you have to be able to play on offense, and that they have 2 guys in Neto and Burke who are borderline backups let alone starting gaurds, in a league where you have to have a good starting guard.

I get the Pelicans, but I really didn't see how that roster would be healthy all year long, would've been shocked, also never liked the Asik signing for them, their GM should got axed last year. That's what happens when your owner thinks he can help run a basketball team just because he also helps runs a football team. PA being the slight exception.

Is that an opening for a possible 10 day contract?

I remember the funny theory from the same author that poited in the other direction. Took the guy long enough to retract it. Funny thing was that it was published right before Dame got injured and McCollum had to play all of his mins without him. Only to average crazy scoring, shooting and passing numbers. I wonder if a part of Dame sitting out that long was nudge to be like "oh really, why don't I sit a bit more and we'll find out what's wrong with that statement." That miss step will teach the author not to come to such grande conclusions less than a month into a players 1st shot at rotation mins.

Seriously though that was a key part of their run in Jan-Feb, everyone found out how to play without Dame so when he came back they could handle those mins when he would be resting a lot better.

I had some fun redesigning the Blazer jerseys on NBA 2K16 with a touch of the 70's look:

Well Hou lost to the Hawks and Utah lost vs the Bulls. We control our destiny vs the Mavs with the home and home.

If we beat them twice that 6th seed is ours. Utah isn't catching us if we do and Hou has a TOUGH 5 games coming up next.

Watching the Juggernauts tonight I really don't wanna get schackled 4-0 vs either. We can at least make it more interesting vs the Thunder or Clips.

Was looking for this the whole season.

"Putting a label on what C.J. has done probably does a disservice, but he has improved," Stotts said. "There's no question he has improved. He's gotten stronger. He knows the league better. His ball-handling has improved. But the biggest improvement was that the opportunity was there for him to play."

I just hate it when hierarchy and politics keeps talent on the bench.

And a little nugget from Wes last week.

"We knew he had that kind of potential and capability," Matthews said. "He just needed the opportunity, and me leaving and everybody else leaving gave him the opportunity."

It shouldn't have took that much overhaul but whatever. I just hope they learn from it in case we get another young and talented player.

Irving, Kehlani, D'angelo, Swaggy P, Iggy...I remeber when the NBA was about basketball. The Lakers are a real mess though and that's just alright.

If Portland can finish 6-1, that would give them 45 wins, forcing the Grizzlies (who are losing at
halt-time to the Nuggets) to 5-2 for Portland has a better conference record after the teams
split 2-2 in head to head match ups. They have two games with the GSW and tough home
game with the Raptors along with tough road games at Dallas and the the Clips. Portland has
tough home games with the Celtics and Thunder and a sure loss with the GSW. They could get
to 5 with a matchup with the LAC.

I've been wondering if the Thunder would be better served to "tank" next weeks game with
Portland by sitting down their players in hopes of getting the injury ravaged Grizzlies. Portland
would still have to win the games they need to win to catch Memphis but a first round matchup
with the Grizzlies might be a cake walk for there is no guarantee any of the injured Grizzlies
will be back in time to be effective in the playoffs.
