Re: Who would you fire and why?
I'll start by voting for Skiles. He was brought in for some combination of improved defense, player development, to preach player accountability, and a playoff push.
He has failed on all fronts. His short tenure reminds me of Brian Hill's second stint.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
I get Henny's idea and plan which is what I've wanted us to implement all season (think Mike Malone in Denver with the young players getting bulk minutes or the 2nd half of Bucks, most of Wolves season, etc) and just see these guys get minutes together and grow and learn each others game on the court on a competitive level.
I give him 1 or 2 seasons to see what happens. If he's hamstrung by Martins and Co. then he is best served elsewhere and we'll probably suffer for it and make dumb trades.
Skiles is not the right coach for this group. I'd probe the coaches over the summer and see if there is any interest among prominent coaches, if not roll with him one more year and see what happens.
But I'd see Skiles -> Martins -> Henny in that order.

Skiles. Just don't feel like he is right for this team. I think he was forced upon Henny by DeVos & Martins.

Skiles is simply terrible. Our brand of basketball has been so bad lately, I havent even watched the last few games. And I am sure he was the man behind trading tobias. And even if he wasn't, those guys look like scrubs under his system, yet they were supposed to come in and make an impact being so familiar with him.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
Obviously Skiles... They'll probably give him another season...
My goodness he's done a pretty bad job with the team outside of the first month and a half. (Yes they were playing well even when their defensive effort dropped off. But they essentially reverted back to the team they were prior, during their winning/competitive streak).
On top of that you have an offense that isn't really geared to the strengths of the players, and you're forcing them to be players they're not. Like I understand trying to emulate some schemes for the team, but its not working offensively. Then you add that putrid Harris trade (Which I assume was a Skiles move given his history with the players that brought in) and you've got this. I'm not mad that Harris was traded... Just more of the fact he was given up for guys who won't be here or even a draft pick bothers me.
Then you have what's going on now with him running Fournier and Oladipo into the ground. This season is essentially over for this squad and you want to play these guys 40+ minutes a night, and on back to backs too? When you have young guys and other players who should be playing MORE since you have nothing to play for. It just boggles my mind... There should be no reason right now that Hezonja shouldn't be playing 25+ minutes a game. And there should be no reason why Fournier and Oladipo should be playing 35+ minutes a game. Its ridiculous...

yeah I voted for nobody as I think teams are too quick to fire coaches these days. If you have a good team though and it under-performs then yeah i could see firing him but I wasn't expecting too much out of this team. Yeah I had hopes but I don't let those get in the way of rational thinking. We got better with pretty much what we had the previous year(though Smith was better than Frye). But these are still professional players and at this level I think that is the most important thing when determining success. So if a different Coach can get us an advantage in free agency then I am all for firing Skiles as I don't think Skiles is irreplaceable at all.

I voted nobody but that does not mean I'm happy with the job Skiles has one so far. I still feel Henny has done a good job.

I almost went Martins since you know he's why Skiles is here, but Skiles.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
I vote Martins only because he's IMO the source of the issue. If we fire Skiles we'll probably get someone else that played for the team in the 90s. Or maybe we can try Brian Hill out for the 3rd time.

I vote Martins because I cant vote for him and Skiles in this poll and he is the source of most of our frustrations, much like these politicians who have held office far too long.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
Only reason I didn't vote Martins is because that puts Hennigan on the chopping block and I think on balance he deserves more time. So voted Skiles.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
Skiles is the obvious answer but firing him alone won't solve all of our problems. Who ever hired Skiles and let him do this chit for a whole season needs to GTFO as well. Skiles is ruining our franchise but the guy who is letting him do that deserves even more blame.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
Think Martins is more of a representation for ownership. So firing Martins is essentially selling the team for new owners. Which I'm good with.
Given that's not happening, I voted Skiles. Was a terrible hire from the jump. He's a mediocre coach at best with veteran players and his offensive schemes are unimaginitve and out-dated. He fails to make in-game adjustments and his idea of developing young players is counter-intuitive and wreaks of inconsistent messaging. He instills no confidence in his players and will likely burn bridges with them in due time if he hasn't already.
The options were sparse this year, but Scott Brooks, who also coached top 5 defensive teams in the last 8 years with a young set of players, would have been a way better option. At least he understood the human side of coaching that Skiles completely lacks insight into. Getting your players up every game to fight is essentially the first goal of every coach; if you can't do that, you're already doomed for failure and the X's and O's won't even matter.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
I want Skiles gone, but it needs to be for a legit coach... we don't want to get stuck in a revolving door of bad coaches who get fired quickly. That won't help the players or our reputation. That being said, if we're still playing this bad around the all star break next season then surely he has to go.
Martins should be replaced sooner rather than later.
Henny should get at least another year imo. If he can't sign a big name, make a game-changing trade and/or at least one of his past draft picks doesn't develop into a star in the making within that frame then he'll be on the hot seat.

This. Have to cut the head off so you can kill it for good. We need better structure in our front office and getting rid of Martins would be an excellent start towards that.

Re: Who would you fire and why?
Why no option for the team to just relocate?
Based on this forum and how the opposing team fans dominate the arena, the city and its fanbase are not happy with the franchise. The small market has cost the franchise their two best players. Perhaps Amway/Devos should move the city to a fresh market with a bigger and more loyal fanbase.
The fan comments reminds me of the Seattle fans hatred of their team for being in rebuild for 3 straight years - one that led to them voting no on supporting a new arena. The franchise moved and finished their rebuild in OKC. Everyone is happy.
