Noel*

Don't think Philly has much interest in moving Noel. Okafor is a different story. Danny will be ready this summer.

Wouldn't give up any of the nets picks for him.

So he ain't coming here.

You wouldn't? Or Danny wouldn't? There's a difference.

Kings 20-point lead over Mavs in 1st half. Then they'll collapse in the 2nd. #reversejinx

Rockets down 10 though at half time vs. Pacers.

There is a difference. However I don't believe Danny is gonna do it and I certainly wouldn't.

He hasn't been a franchise changing player in his rookie season and has had multiple run ins with trouble already.

Why give up a top 3 pick for a player who's trending the wrong way.

If Denver could win that game that would give Dallas 39 losses with 8 games to play, meaning that they would have to go 6-2 to finish with a .500 record.

That Denver game would be huge if Denver could pull it out, but Denver will also be playing a back to back with today's game on the road, so I am not sure how much that helps the situation.

Brooklyn locked in at 4th worst IMO. I'll take it ... a 24.5% shot at a top 2 pick. Dallas is going to come down to the wire. I think they finish worse than Utah and Houston and miss the playoffs, but battle for draft position with Wash and Chicago will be key. anywhere between 12-16 pick, but I am guessing 13....again not too shabby :)

This Washington - LA game is huuuuuge!!!!

With Chandler Parsons shut down, we have a good chance at picking 11th or 12 with the Dallas selection..

Can't believe Brooklyn just beat Cleveland and Indiana in their last two games.. I really want that pick to be 3rd in the lottery, but it's still theoretically possible they could slip to 5th if Minnesota slackens and Brooklyn surges.

I also hate to say it, known it's unpopular, but I would love to see as go 2-7 the rest of the way, finish with 45 wins, and be passed in the standings by Miami (who'd have to go just 4-6), Charlotte (4-5), and maybe one of Indiana and Detroit (they'd have to go 7-2 and 7-1 respectively in this scenario). We'd pick 20th instead of 23rd, and wind up a 7th or 8th seed. Every little bit of draft positioning helps, especially if we're looking at trade opportunities.

3, 11, and 20 on lotto night vs. 4, 12 and 23..

8th seed will be decided between DAL and HOU. Decisive will be DAL:HOU game, HOU has a 2:1 series lead now and win would give them tiebreaker which could be deciseive.

UTA has the far easiest schedule, all they have to do is win LAL 2X, MIN, @PHO and DAL...that would give theam 42 wins and tiebreaker over DAL.

POR also si not safe yet, they imo need 4 wins to get to 42. 4 most winnable games they have are SAC, @SAC, MIN, DEN...Than they play BOS, MIA, OKC, @GSW. Hard job also for POR.

Whoever does not make playoffs will finish 12th imo...Both WAS/CHI will finish at 50% imo.

There is also a high chance of 2 or 3 team ties, could be a 4 way team tie :D

How are the tiebreakers:

POR has 3:1 with UTA, 1:2 with DAL, 2:2 with HOU.
HOU has 2:2 with UTA/POR and 2:1 with DAL and one game remaining.
UTA has 1:3 with POR, 2:2 with HOU and 1:1 with DAL and one game remaining.
DAL has 2:1 with POR, 1:1 with UTA(game remaining) and 1:2 with HOU(game remaining).

If we look how the season has gone I expect DAL winning OT game home against HOU and getting 8th seed

I'll be extactic if that Dallas pick yields Luwawu. In the unfortunate situation we don't get Ingram, I'm warming up to a Heild/Luwawu/Sabonis night if we don't trade out.

Three spots from 23-20 is nowhere near worth losing home court and probably losing another first round series. For the purposes of NBA trading 20 and 23 are identical.

I think Dallas is cooked. Houston just needs to tread water until the last five games where things ease up for them.

can't see Dallas pick getting down to 11th. That is Nuggets / Knicks Neighborhood. possible but barely possible.

When was the last time a playoff team have 2 lottery picks ate their disposal? Also if the Mavs stay at 12 do they send a representative at the lottery?

Best case scenario is we get a top 2 pick with the Nets pick. If that is the case, I don't think we need to make any major move as we will draft a franchise player in Ingram or Simmons (both happen to fit our team perfectly).

Most likely scenario is we get the #5 pick (assuming one team behind us wins a lottery spot) and we get the #12 pick from Dallas (although they could still sneak by Houston). Is it possible to package the #5 and #12 pick for a good piece (I don't see any player in those spots who supplants our current players within the next two years)? The talent in this draft class isn't mind blowing, but this is probably the last draft class to have the team friendly rookie contracts that are in place now. I think that will give the picks more value than we had last year (when Ainge couldn't package 5 picks, including Nets, to move up in the draft).

Assuming #5 and #12 here are some potential trades, let me know what you think (both from Celtics perspective and:
1) Trade #5 and #12 for Okafor: Boston gains superior post player to Sullinger with an all-star level ceiling (although not superstar level). Boston doesn't have to re-sign Sullinger for more than his actual value. Philly get 3 (potentially 4) lottery picks in the last year before league rules change to disallow tanking and rookie contracts go way up in value
2) Trade #5 pick, #12 and Amir Johnson for Vucevic: Boston gets low post scorer and rebounder it needs. Orlando adds a lot more talent to an athletic team that Vucevic just doesn't seem to fit with.

Please provide feedback. There are better ideas out there I am sure. Please try to keep feedback related to ideas that involve the trade of draft picks (can include players as well). Also, feel free to mention reasons why you think we should keep the picks and select certain players. Thanks in advance for the help and thoughts.
