Huge game in terms of playoff seedings and our potential draft picks. Luckily, Dallas played last night too. Gotta win this one.

Losing is always good for the lottery.
Winning is always good for morale.
Beating Dallas REALLY helps us not lose that #1 pick.
Please kick some ... tonight Nuggets!!!

Turnovers !?! No Nurkic ?? Selfish play and poor passing...allow 14 steals...I'd be pissed too if I were Malone.

All those turnovers were a killer. Can't do that against a smart team like Dallas.

Also I have no idea why Sampson was in the game when we're trying to make a 4th quarter comeback. He's worthless on offense.

Kinda wish we hadn't swept the season series vs. Houston. Anyone know what the tiebreak scenarios are?

I have really been trying to take these losses in stride, but this one really get's my ire up. This had HUGE implications for us and we played without any passion, urgency or character. I know it's been a long season but this was pathetic.

Only one I know is Houston holds the tie-breaker over Dallas

Luckily it appears HOU has an easier schedule down the stretch.

To be fair, an extra draft pick probably doesn't mean anything to the players. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even aware of the POR and HOU pick situations. Dallas has their entire season on the line. Doesn't surprise me at all that they would play with more intensity.

But you're still right. That was a pathetic performance.

It seems unlikely that players are not aware of draft picks or anything else. Some pretend they don't read the papers or watch ESPN or whatever, but interviews often reveal the truth - they do watch, they are aware - it's true in every sport. They have a passion for the game, they want to know what's happening. They probably know far more than any fan about what is happening with various teams.

Maybe they're aware, but I highly doubt any of them care that if Houston makes the playoffs we get a best case scenario 15th pick. That's more of a Front Office thing to worry about. Right now it's about developing our core. I think this season is already a win for us, the offseason is going to be fun.

and I can totally see that view of things - the Nuggets have done much better this year than most people thought they'd do --- the future looks good regardless of draft picks and so forth - the lottery is a crap shoot, but so is the whole draft --- Boston's lone all-star this year was the very last pick in the draft --- bet lots of teams would take him now LOL --- Nuggets have reason to be proud and they have reason to believe their future is looking very good
