Nobody is going to risk harming their career (and millions of dollars) to "have Nick's back." End of the day nobody cares about Nick and his gf maybe breaking up. And LA is the fakest city in the world, limitless amount of sycophants that will do anything to get in good with a young superstar like Russell. The story will have no durability. In a week everyone will have forgotten—probably even Nick.

So because I don't condone cheating, I'm suddenly a female? **** off.

Both guys are in the wrong here. Young can cry and moan all he wants, but he brought this upon himself for cheating. If you can't stay faithful don't enter an adult relationship. Plain and simple. He had the option of keeping things casual, but he chose to get engaged. He's a moron.

And Russell sounds like an immature baby. What he did was just stupid as hell and it'll end up costing him.

People are taking the cheating part and focusing on that. The trust part is the main issue.

Nick Young could have said, "I cheated on my taxes" or "I don't like this race of people" or "I can't stand signing autographs before games or attending Laker volunteer events".

This was said in the privacy of his hotel room and speaking with a teammate, there is a huge implication of privacy and trust. Basically its getting into J. Edgar Hoover/big brother type thinking when you can't have freedom of speech in your own hotel room with a co-worker......

Your right. But also by that same token Sterling should've never had his team taken away from him.

I agree the broken trust is the big story here. I won't deny that. It's F'd up what he did. But I personally just got sucked in cause I don't think Young should be painted as an innocent victim either.

That still doesn't mean though that I don't think Russell F'd up and should've known better

LMAO Lakers board is turning into TMZ rumor mill, Iggy is probably breaking it off with Swaggy P now after personally thanking DLo for confirming her suspicions.

So honestly how do you/did you feel about the Donald Sterling thing?

She violated trust as well. If we were able to listen in on all of the private conversations of everyone in the world, it would be mass chaos. I can't believe there are people who are so naive in thinking that people do not reveal their true feelings in private conversations and not to the media......
I'm so tired of the typical......

I'm pretty sure a lot of the Laker fans who are defending Russell calling him the 'good guy' in all of this are the same people who have all but forgotten about Kobe's infidelity. Anyway you spin it, what Russell did was worse on every leve, and yeah, this scandal is really bad. I personally will never be able to root for him after this and I'm sure many other fans feel the same. This has permanently damaged his reputation and 'brand' and affected the Lakers' free agency prospects. Even several years from now when the hooplah has died down, this is the kind of thing that will not be forgotten by him or anybody else in the league. An atrocious, unbelievably stupid, and frankly, sickening thing to do.

There aren't many NBA players I can say that I actively dislike, but he has certainly become one of them and I personally hope he doesn't recover from this. There are plenty of decent young players who actually have character that I can root for.

Oh man, a Celtic fan is going to stop rooting for a Laker. What are we going to do?!?!!?

I don't see many people here defending Russel. Besides, what Kobe did was behind closed doors, off the record, while under pressure. It wasn't even known until 6 months after the fact when the cop went to the DA to try to intimidate Kobe (it didn't work). Not the same as DLo himself sharing it with the entire interwebz.

Nice job trying to make depict me as self-absorbed when you misunderstood my post on multiple fronts, guy. First of all, I said Kobe's infidelity, I never once mentioned how he ratted on Shaq. The main point of my post was that his reputation took an irreparable hit. He has become nearly impossible to root for and many people, Lakers fans included, seem feel the same way as demonstrated in this thread. And there were in fact several dweebs defending DLo earlier and trying to make this incident about Swaggy cheating.

Man I had Russell pegged for an idiot since that cringe worthy "Ice in my veins" thing he was doing. Kid is just too big for his britches...thinks his **** don't stink...

I'm going to take the long view here. Nick Young was done a favor - marrying a pop starlet in a state like california is a really bad idea for him.

That said, Russell is just uh...yah this won't go well for him.
Rest in peace Kobe & Gianna

He apparently posted it on his snapchat story and thought nobody would see it or save it

What an idiot

Snapchat is literally used for ONE reason...so other people can see what you are doing. And yet he thought nobody's gonna see it?

Mind blowing people are defending a snitch. My friends could do much worse than cheat on their wives and I wouldn't say a thing. Not condoning such behavior. But being a snitch is the worst.

Slava Kobe's reputation took a huge hit after Colorado, to deny that is just nonsense. It's taken him years of careful public relations works to get back to where he is today in the publics eye

Stop with the gender baiting.

A looot of really embarrassing and poor-quality posts in this thread. It's getting locked up because apparently people can't discuss this like mature adults.
