Well, Utah should take some pride that they didn't let GS get away with only playing for 12 minutes. Now they've got to actually try for 17 !

I'm gonna start betting parlays on every game that we need to go a certain way not going that way on a given night so at least if this happens I'll make a good chunk of money

Yes it looked great...PHO catched MIL in 4th, but small ball guard lineup could not defend in last minutes. NY with 9 4th quarter TO gave a W to DAL...and DAL should have won it in regulation, 2 Gobert missed FT and GSW offensive rebound and 2nd 3pt by Klay.

Terrible night yes, could get worst if WAS losses in SAC.

We need a Was win so They can stay with playoffs aspirations when they play the Nets.

One dark horse in West playoff race we all forgot about is MEM...there imo is chance they are the ones who misses playoffs. Yes they have 41 wins, but there also is a chance they will lose all remaining games:

TOR
@ORL
CHI
@DAL
GSW
@LAC ? - here LAC resting players can give MEM a win and pick themselves easy first round opponent.
@GSW

It sure will be super interested MEM, POR, DAL, HOU and UTA...anyone can get to 5th seed.

A Knicks win could have killed the Mavs off :(

Rambis made a series of awful decisions down the stretch, Afflalo's a joke, and Sasha Vujacic was trying to pick up Barea full court. Awful. Mavs tried to give it away.

There is no doubt NY should trade Carmelo in summer and start to build a new team around Porzingis, tank two season in 17 and 18 and add 2 high loterry picks. Time is right to be the worst team in East because except Philly all will probably improve or at least stay competitive.

I can't wait for people to predict Orlando and Milwaukee to be better than us and then watch them underachieve again.

I never understood the hype around Orlando's roster. Gordon, Payton and Dipo are meh.. and Skiles is the wrong coach there.

If 538's projections hold true in two weeks, Celtics fans will be a happy bunch. It'll be a coin toss for 12th spot between Mavs, Bulls, and Wizards.

ESPN's BPI has Mavs and Wizards tied for the 12th worst record.

Blue sky is Durant/Horford with a 3rd star thrown in

Durant would be a shocker, but strangers things have happened. We get him, Horford follows. I'd really prefer to add those two to this core, deal around the margins for bench vets, and pick a couple of blue chippers at 4 & 12.. We could be OKC with a bigger wallet.

I think the big big danger is overpaying (4/12/Smart/JY/BKN '18 for Jimmy Butler) to get good immediately, but compromising the stockpile of assets that could make us great.

I would never give up that much for Jimmy Butler. No way. I'd even be a little uncomfortable sending Smart/BK16 to the Bulls as the centerpiece . IDK. tough call. Good thing this is Danny's call and not ours.

You wouldn't send this years pick and Smart for Jimmy Butler? Ainge would have already done it if he could.

All depends on where this years pick lands of course.

If the pick is #3 or #4 and we have the opportunity to draft Hield or Dunn, yes, I'd be absolutely nervous about overspending on Jimmy Butler. I really like Jimmy Butler and think he'd be an excellent Celtic, and could help lure in free agents...that's why I'd probably lean slightly towards doing the deal.....BUT I'd be scared as heck that Hield turns into a superstar and Smart turns into an absolute menace for opponents.
I think Butler is peaked right now. He will never be better then what he is right now. That's not a bad thing. You just need to look through the history of the sport and realize that sometimes patience is the best practice.

Tough call.

If trading for Butler means we become front runners for Durant/Horford....100% I do the deal. But if it means we get Jimmy Butler, but nobody else signs here........I'm not nearly as happy with the deal.

This is what it all boils down to. I'd trade everything in the treasure chest for any All-star player out there if it meant that Durant was coming here. Danny's going to need his players to do some recruiting before July 1st. It's too bad the FA recruiting period didn't start before the draft. Would make for a much more interesting draft night in terms of trades.

As far as Buddy Hield goes, I realize he is 22 already, but what he's been doing all season long is ridiculous. He has an uncanny ability to knock down shots from anywhere...in today's NBA that's huge. we need a guy that can be 40% + from deep and average 20ppg+.
I'd take that all day long.

The problem is fit. he isn't a really good fit here because our core is already IT-Bradley-Smart-Crowder...not even factoring in Rozier/Hunter/Young . Danny has work to do.
