Washington with a loss last night. LAL beat Miami

DarkHawk wrote:Currently we have a 1.5 game lead over Brooklyn for the 3 spot. They have played one less game.

Suns play: Washington, Utah, @Atlanta, @Houston, @New Orleans, Sacramento, LA Clippers
Nets play: @Cleveland, @NYK, New Orleans, @Washington, @Charlotte, @Indiana, Washington, Toronto

I see us beating Sacramento for sure. MAYBE Washington and New Orleans. Though the Clips may have nothing to play for by then, I expect them to play hard in order to work Blake back in.
I see the Nets beating New Orleans and MAYBE Washington once or twice. Toronto likely will rest some players since they won't be playing for anything by that point. That's winnable too since it's in Brooklyn.

Bottom line is, this race is coming down to the wire. We can't afford to win games like against the Wizards just for gratification.
We've competed really well the last few losses so I don't see us losing out.

This is going to go down to the final game I believe. And if that's the case, Goodwin, Jenkins, and Williams better see a LOT of minutes.

We can maybe beat Washington though I would prefer a loss. We are not beating Sacramento or anybody else on that list :D

The easiest part of our schedule is past us, and we still have an advantage over Brooklyn.
All the opponents we might still beat also face the Nets. I'm pretty confident we end up with the third worst record now

Brooklyn is getting creamed by the Cavs. Damn.

Guess this means we still need to lose tomorrow. As BW said, let's not take any chances. We gotta finish 3rd.

From the games I've watched we seem to be playing hard still, but getting the appropriate result in the end.

I'm not sure how planned that is, but at this stage we're getting both the competing and tanking done together, which would be the FO wishes.

We're on track to have the highest draft pick in franchise history, during our longest era of failure, surely that's incentive to keep going for another week!

The tank rolls on. Knight is questionable with the sports hernia and Leuer is out with a bad ankle.

Washington will hopefully get the win.

Haha. We are starting to tank on purpose. I love it. We want that 3rd slot.

Win or lose, it doesn't matter for Washington. They will likely finish 12th. That means we have a 97.5% chance of keeping that pick.

I don't think it's the tank, unless Knight will stay out more games. It'd make much more sense to sit him for the Pelicans (or kings) game. The Wiz would probably win this one regardless.

I don't think so. We play at home and Knight is not a game changer

The problem imo is that Knight is slightly injury prone. Just that.

BKN lost to the Knicks scrubs. Boo.

This means we must lose tonight. Even if it means losing to Keef.

Next up: Sunday!

Washington @ LAC - LAC should win and knock Washington out of the playoffs
Jazz @ Suns - We should lose. Again. The tank is strong!
NOP @ BKN - Winable game for Brooklyn. It could put them 2 ahead of us. HUGE!

That's best case scenario. Fingers crossed

Boogie Cousins is resting for every remaining away game, which means he'll be out for the Suns game.

This whole thing of these non-playoff teams resting their players is so ridiculous. Brooklyn's been resting their guys too. The hell are they getting paid for? If you can't make the playoffs, at least show up to the games fans pay for.

And Brooklyn doesn't even get their own pick. I guess you could always argue that it's not worth injury risk if games don't matter.

Opposed to us playing Knight and Chandler injured, and having old guys like Teletovic, Budinger, Price, Tucker try get us our next win. Having said that we've achieved our tank goal so far, wonder what happens if we're in front against SAC or LAC whether we take a more overt tactic if we need to protect 3rd.

Also Washington are basically out of playoffs now. They need to go 6-0 and hope Indiana go 2-4 and Detroit 2-3. Not sure if a pick 12 to 14 in weaker drafts tend to get much, but it at least we have that shot.

Denver is in the ninth spot with 46 losses. Washington has 39 losses with 6 games to go so even if they lose all those they'll be at 45 losses. Looks to be a race to the number 12 pick unless of course buy some cruel twist of fate Washington winds up in the top three. For those of you remember the Joe Johnson trade, The dirty filthy rotten no good Hawks moved up and snatched Noah out of the Suns Championship aspirations. Harford was the consensus number three pick and it is now known the Suns were going to select Noah. :banghead:

Well we'll need to basically lose out for any chance at the 3rd spot. Brooklyn won't win again with Young AND Lopez out.

The box score from the NOP BKN game is hilarious. Everyone rested. It was basically D-league VS D-league:

Can we please rest PJ, Booker, and Tyson?

Nets are a **** franchise..teams that have every reason to tank and rest their best players mostly don't yet a team with no pick next year and every incentive to play hard rests their two best players for the year
