The thing is that double turn occurred organically. You can't force that kind of storyline on the fans these days.

Their best shot of turning Roman heel was during Survivor Series. They had another shot to turn him heel during the triple threat match between himself, Brock and Ambrose, but they decided to have him no sell chair shots from Dean, and no sell a kimura lock from Lesnar instead. And they wonder why fans can't stand him?

None of this is Reigns fault either. He's been booked like garbage. But Vince is completely stubborn and wants Reigns to be his new Cena so badly. The problem is Cena actually got over organically as a face and a heel before he had the machine behind him. He actually possessed good mic skills and had charisma. Reigns doesn't have charisma or the mic skills to be a top face. DB didn't have great mic skills either but at least he had that "it" factor. He was also a believable underdog that the fans could get behind. It's embarrassing to see them try and make Reigns a DB type underdog against the Authority. It just doesn't work, especially when he's won 2 world titles in the past 5 months.

While I feel bad for Reigns, I also can't blame fans for booing him. And this argument that at least he's getting a reaction and that people will be tuning in to Wrestlemania regardless is utter shortsighted BS. Why settle sort term results, when you can actually build him the proper way? But they refuse to, and they refuse to listen to the fans that want to support guys like Ambrose and Owens. And the thing is if they actually turned those two into legit main eventers, they would become absolutely stars that could carry the company. But because neither has the look they're looking for, they relegated to upper mid card status instead, while they continue to force Reigns on fans who simply won't accept him.

im pretty sure reigns will eventually turn heel when rollins comes back.... rollins is the face of the company and will be the best babyface the company has had in a longggg longg timee.

I don't know Rollins was such a good heel before the injury. I feel like he would be stale as a babyface. Kind of like Jericho when he plays face from time to time. Whether WWE like it or not the top babyface is AJ Styles. They should be giving him a big push in the next few months while he is still able to work high profile matches.

I hope everyone caught Takeover yesterday, cause it was easily the best PPV of the year. Nakamura already leads off with a MOTY contender with Zayn, Joe goes bloody beast mode vs Finn, and Asuka wins the title. WrestleMania has a ton of work to do to follow up.

NXT is the best thing going right now in Wrestling. That Takeover last night was incredible. Best tag match of the year between the Revival and American Alpha. Match of the Year with Nakamura and Zayn. Great womens match with 2 of the best. Balor and Joe had a real fight excitement with Joe being busted open. Wrestlemania will not be able to top it.

WWE should really look at the way NXT sets up their live specials. I think its only 4 specials a year which lets them build storylines up with huge payouts when the matches take place. 11-12 specials a year is too many and pointless when you have the same matches on tv leading into them. Best thing for them to do is hit the reset button after mania. Cut ties with the "superstars" who do nothing for the product. Reduce Raw to 2 hours and force guys to earn TV time with their performances. Imagine how great it would be if Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, Summerslam, Royal Rumble and maybe a reintroduction to the King of the Ring were the main focuses and the build ups they could have leading into those events. One can only dream.....

I actually thought the tag match might have been the best match all night. Awesome show regardless. Proves WWE still knows how to do wrestling.

I think they're about to go all in on NXT. They're doing a great job of building up its popularity and making it feel like a totally separate entity. I hope that's what the Shane/brand split thing winds up being about. Not Raw vs. Smackdown (lame), but WWE vs. NXT. Give NXT the Smackdown time slot on Thursdays, and let Triple H be in full control. The story basically writes itself with Triple H likely dropping the title at Mania and being run out of town by Shane. After Trips eventually returns amidst a potential NXT invasion angle that plays out over the course of a few PPVs, the two sides could have some sort of battle over Smackdown, which will presumably be up for grabs with Shane constantly making a point to say he wants “control of Raw”.

Obviously, NXT prevails, and you abolish SD, establish another solid show on cable that people may actually watch, and the 2 companies can go on to have a friendly popularity contest that I would assume could = major $ for WWE. As NXT gets more popular and starts drawing larger crowds in bigger arenas, you can really split up the talent a bit and have some of WWE’s bigger stars jump ship to NXT. If they keep the companies separate enough and don’t overplay the invasion/brand split as they did in the past, it will actually be exciting to see a wrestler change companies like it was in the 90s and early 2000s. By having control over the two largest and most popular wrestling promotions in the world, WWE can somewhat recreate the magic of the Monday Night Wars and bring back the element of surprise to wrestling. They can work around the dirt sheets and have guys switch and show up on Monday Night Raw or NXT Takeover on a whim without it hitting the internet first. Don’t you miss those days?

We’ll see what happens. I’ve been predicting this for a while now. I think it’s Vince’s end game. When he mentioned a “WWF channel” years ago, before streaming networks like Netflix ever existed, I always wondered what his ultimate goal was. This is it. WWE as sort of a league of sports entertainment. All pro wrestling under one big umbrella, and what better way than to offer two legitimately different brands? It makes the WWE Network even more valuable if they pull it off. So far, they’re doing great. NXT is clearly on the rise, and it would be a shame to see them try and split up the main roster and continue to spread those guys thin instead of letting NXT shine in front of a cable audience and really give Raw a run for its money.

I stopped watching WWE around the attitude era. BUT my boy flew to Dallas, he is a huge fan, and went to the NXT event last night. Said it was absolutely epic and basically called out McMahon saying NXT is the superior product to RAW and other WWE main events.

He said the crowd last night at NXT was incredible and went off about how it was the best wrestling event he has ever attended and he has gone to many wrestlemanias and other PPV's.

Fans feel Reigns is being force fed as the next John Cena without organically getting there. It is very similar to when The Rock debuted as Rocky Miavia and the fans booed him mercilessly. Reigns is destined to go the same route as Rock and become a good heel if he wants to succeed.

His mic skills are horrible. He is lame. His wrestling is meh.

I don't want much, but the best thing I saw him do was the Lesnar match. He did well with the story of that match.

I'll never understand booking champions in non-title matches at Wrestlemania.

Shane O Mac is crazy. I wonder where we go from here though? It would have been really exciting if Shane won and changes were made. Oh well, WWE cant ever do it right.

What I liked:

- STONE COLD. 3 stunners. My favorite wrestler of all time. HBK, my 2nd favorite looks in amazing shape still & can definitely still go. Should've been had HBK vs. the Rock

- back to the Women's division & a nice belt. Wanted Sasha to win but get why Charlotte won at Mania to be 1st women's champ. She's a Flair. Sasha will get an even bigger reaction once she wins it. I love expect for her to win at Summerslam in Brooklyn. NY loves Sasha.

- Shane showing his passion, craziness & balls per usual. Gotta give it to him. He didn't have to take that big risk, especially in front of his kids & wife. Wish Taker would've tombstoned him then laid down & out Shane's hand on him for the 3 count.

- Bray got put into a good spot until he took the People's elbow. Bray & the Wyatts have so much potential. Had it for years but things seems to be slowing down because of creative. Didn't have a match but this interaction was probably the best instead of throwing Bray in a battle royal or a pre-show match. Makes sense. Keeps him interacting with the high profile name. The Rock also put him over a bit when talking about knowing who he is & having so much potential & charisma. Don't think he should've took the people's elbow. Let him watch while Cena & Rock destroys his followers. That was only mistake

Everything else was blah. Couple cool spots in Ladder match.

No clue why Ryder is getting so much love. He deserves it but it's so random.

Loved the New Day's Dragonball Z attire. The match was wack though. We've seen it already.

Mark Henry got a big pop from his home crowd. They should've at least let Henry be last 2 with Corbin.

No comment on main event. Something good better happen tomorrow.

He was filler because they had too many injuries.
Cena, Randy, Orton & Cesaro were all hurt.
Sting & Daniel Bryan forced to retire.
Shane was only big name left.
