It's disgusting. Barea, Deron (did enough damage before he went down), and an octogenarian Dirk, stealing the 12th pick from us. Any other year in recent memory in the west, and there's no way.

Well, Brooklyn losing to the Knicks by 14 takes the sting out of it a bit. If they can defy the odds and catch Phoenix, everything else fades away in importance.

The Mavs are so lucky. Deron goes down and Barea turns into an **** All-Star.

Looking at BRK pick good DET lost...hope they lose tomorow again against CHI...we need WAS motivated till second to last game when they play @BRK. And is somehow TOR would catch CLE and needed a win last game of season...if all dominos fall our way BRK will win only sunday againt Pelicans...

We would than need 3 PHO wins...@NOP, SAC, LAC(Doc sits starters)...

3rd worst finish still possible...believe!!!

Yep and we need the Mavs lose the Rockets and Utah so they can miss out on the playoffs.

2 top 20 picks that aren't even our own and we still find a way to complain.

I've chosen to focus my energy on the nets. Happy with our chances.

Mavs are far from in, guys. If Houston beats them they have the tiebreaker and then four games against LAL, Phoenix, Minny, and Sacramento. They'll have their chance to knock Dallas out.

42 wins should be enough for HOU. If they lose OKC and win last 5(including DAL).DAL by this scenario would have to win all other games, if they lose HOU to get to 43...do not think its possible.

And there is also MEM 41 wins, who could lose all remaining games...

It still wide open...DAL could finishs high as 5th seed.

I expect at least 2 if not more teams with same record....heck, its possible 5 teams end with 42:40 record 8

Pick can be anywhere from 12th to 20th...difference will not be more than 2-3 wins imo.

I think it's coming down to the HOU@DAL game.

As bad as Memphis has been I think they have 1 win in them and that is all they need.

Portland is in: they'll win 3-4 of their final 6.

Utah should win 4 of 6 and get in.

Houston will win 3 or 4 and Dallas will win 2 or 3.

MEM
plays @ORL, CHI, @DAL, GSW, @LAC, @GSW...highest chace for win home CHI or @LAC if Doc rest starters. So MEM best case is 42 or 43 wins.

POR is at 40 wins and play MIA, @GSW, @SAC, OKC, MIN, DEN. Winning last 2 games gives them 42 wins, need to get one more with MIA or @SAC.

UTA is at 38 and plays @PHO, SAS, LAC, @DEN, DAL, @LAL. 3 easy ones plus DAL at home would give them 42 wins.

....

high high chance more teams finish with 42 wins.

I don't think Dallas gets to 42. I think they finish at 40 or 41 depending on that Houston game.

And I think Houston has the tie breaker even if they lose that game now that I look further into it. So if Dallas beats Houston and goes 3-3 the rest of the way, Houston would need to win 4 to tie them and win the tie breaker. That would mean beating PHO, LAL, MIN, and SAC. Very, very doable.

A few tie breakers:
If Houston and Dallas tie, Houston wins
If Houston, Dallas, and Memphis tie, Houston wins
If Houston, Dallas, and Utah tie; Dallas would need to beat both Utah and Houston to get in. If they split, the team that beats them is in. If they lose both Houston is in.

ESPN BPI and 538 sites both still have Dallas with slightly less than a 50-50 chance of making playoffs, even after 3 straight wins. These sites have been surprisingly accurate. I still think Dallas misses playoffs - but the Houston game is critical.

I give Dallas a lot of credit. Well coached and high character guys. But they are not deep, and are without Parsons, and DWill is not 100%. This has to take its toll.

Lot of stuff happening today.

Celtics can clinch a playoff spot and move back into a tie for the 3rd seed.

Brooklyn can clinch the 3rd or 4th worse record with a loss and a Minny win.

Houston can move back into a tie with a win and Dallas loss. This is a big day for Houston. If they lose and Dallas wins their window closes a little bit more. They still have the game against Dallas on Wednesday, so it is not all or nothing. OKC has the third seed in the West locked up, so they are ready to start resting for the playoffs and hopefully that helps today.

We have a win win game with Utah at Phoenix. Definitely pushing for a Phoenix win with this one though.

Very interesting that there are no games scheduled for tomorrow. What's up with that?

This day hinges on the Pelicans and Timberwolves getting wins. Add in Houston needing to beat OKC, and we are asking for a lot.

I don't really care about the Mavericks pick or where it lands . The Nets pick is what matters the most. It can be used to draft a franchise player or used to trade for one .

I do not see how could Pelicans beat Nets...

MIN imo has a chance, young wolwes are good...just they do not play defense and their bench is bellow average, probably DAL wins.

UTA also is alot better than PHO.

Do not see this day going our way.

The Pelicans can beat the Nets, but it wouldn't be easy . Especially being the game is in Brooklyn. Also the Suns can beat Utah. They're at home.

@uuords: Donald Sloan (upper respiratory) is out. Tony Brown added Bogdanovic will likely sit.

Brooklyn tank in full effect.
