Yup, that's exactly it. This was a huge win, but if the Wizards beat us, we flip-flop with them and we're out. So this is going to be close...

So, the math gets really bad for Washington right now. Two more losses for them and they likely can't catch Detroit.

If Detroit goes 4-3 in their last 7 games(44 wins), Washington would have to go 8-0 to tie Detroit and win the tie-breakers.

If Detroit goes 3-4 in their last 7 games(43 wins), Washington would have to go 7-1 to tie Detroit and win the tie-breakers.

3 more wins are not enough, we need 4.

Congrats to who wrote the Bulls were done...

The Wizards are losing games we projected they would win. Its time to rethink. We originally had them at 44 wins. We can't just assume they're going to win all of the games we thought they would at the beginning from here on out. They haven't been the team we thought they'd be.

I think the reason why Westbrook and Durant are both mad at Jackson is because they knew he was really good and they needed him to come off the bench and help them win a championship and Jackson wanted more because he wanted more.

Absolutely agree with you, it's Reggie vs Waiters and his Hitlerball

6-3 is what I predicted for the homestand, but aside from Charlotte game we played mediocre basketball like Chicago, Indiana and Washington are doing.

Agree. Beal not being 100% hasn't helped them. They still smoked us when we played them. I'm not too proud to be wrong - glad they are likely to be on the outside looking in :-)

For whatever its worth, ESPN currently puts the Bulls chances at the playoffs at about 10%, and Washington at 5%. A win against Washington probably puts them out of the running for good.

I think both teams are done. Neither one seem good enough to finish out the season as strong as they would need and I don't think we are bad enough to completely fall apart.

Guys Chicago and Washington are really bad teams! We played poorly last night and we still won the game. I mean Chicago didn't score for like 3 mins straight while they're at home. That's not a coincidence. Washington isn't about to win against the Clippers tonight. Stop worrying. 2 more wins and we lock in the Playoffs. It's harder for them to win and it's hard for us to lose. You guys are still stuck in the time before Harris came. We're a different team, much better. There's a chance we win out the whole season and they lose out the rest.

Chicago is a team forever malinged by injuries. No Rose, Noah, or Gibson for last night's game.

Its remarkable the number and variety of injuries that team has had to endure this year. I wonder how many different lineups they've had to use this year. I never thought they'd be bad enough to miss the playoffs. Heck, never thought they'd be the team we'd be fighting it out with for a spot, even. Very surprising.

The 7th seed is a legitimate possibility, but we're going to need some help from Indiana. If they lose a game or 2 that they weren't expected to it will create an opening for us, and then we can play the "we always choke in the playoffs" Raptors rather than the Cavs.

Couldn't have said it better myself. For the better part of the last week 75% of this forum have been waiting for the Pistons to collapse and for Washington/Chicago to take off. Those two teams are either openly questioning their core and/or are calling each other's play out in the media. We've just played a little less than stellar defense on a couple occasions, and people were more worried those 2 bum ass teams all of sudden clicking after not doing so for 75+ games on the season. The Pistons are making the playoffs, get with the program.

Yeah man. After the Charlotte win I thought we were good to go from then. Winning against OKC pretty much solidified our position to go 500 for the rest of the season which we've been playing BETTER than 500. And now we just hit the nail against Chicago. Win or lose against Washington, we're going to the Playoffs. Chicago and Washington would be lucky to reach 41 wins. There's actually a chance we sit some starts against Cleveland in the last game

That is a lot of firepower to be missing. Add that to Butler and it is quite a team. But it seems like Chicago's window has come and gone. A shame to see DRose not have a healthy career.

Wow. I never, ever gave any thought to that, but that could actually happen.
