That was definitely a key shot, but I won't go as far as saying he had poise in that quarter. He nearly threw away the pass to IT. He did throw away a pass on a different play a little earlier in the 4th. He took a dumb foul on Green when he was too far under the basket to get a charge, yet he tried it anyway.

The worst play to me was when he took a flip at the hands of Green on the Warriors last play. Instead of bouncing back up immediately, he looked to the official and raised his arm up to ask where the call was. That's a second he wasted doing that, where he could have got right up and bothered Curry's shot a little more, then argued the call at play stoppage. If Curry's shot had gone in, we would be tearing him a new one on this board right now for looking and jawing at the official while the game tying shot goes in.

Don't get me wrong, he made some great plays in that game, but he also made some typical Smart bad ones.

Look, Smart has been absolute trash the last month+, and deserves the majority of the criticism he faces, but getting mad that he didn't get up immediately after being flipped/upended by Green seems like a complete stretch to me.

He got upended a good three feet in the air, and if the shot went in, fans would be more pissed that the refs blatantly missed a call than at Smart for not popping immediately to his feet.

He didn't pop up right away because he was looking at the refs while holding his arm up in the air, arguing the call. Look at the video again, please. Any play where a player argues while the play is still going on instead of finishing out the play, is horrendous. You don't do that. Especially, not the final play of a game. Unquestionably, not the time nor the place. Argue after plays, not during.

Starts around 8:45.

He complains, for sure (I mean, he did get destroyed) but if you think it at all impacted his contesting the shot, watch it again.

There are plenty of valid criticisms of Smart- you don't have to nitpick this or the perfect pass he threw to IT to find one.

Well, the person I originally quoted mentioned poise. Nitpicking or not, I showed examples where he was not poised. He's starting to balance his play with some better decisions and good plays. Even Evan Turner, who earlier this year seemed to have more bad plays than good, has turned things right around. I'm hoping Smart can, too.

Send me a PM if you want me to point you in the right direction if you wanna watch it  .

Haha, thanks.I Comcast Sports, I just couldn't stay up that late due to work in the am. Yes, I am lame :D
