Obviously a different sport, but Cardale was getting major hype after a few good games possibly similar to Anunoboy. Top 5 sure seems risky.

Yeah I still have Murray over Buddy, age and upside is too much to pass on. With Mavs pick I hope we draft Valentine or Deyonta Davis

How bout Amida Brimah? The guy blocks shots at a high rate.

With out pick, I'd like Ante Zicic, Ivica Zubac or Zhou Qi... The way everything has been going in the last few drafts, one of them is bound to be good..
Good assessment:

Can't say I know much of anything regarding Bender other than he's a toolsy prospect, but I just read about him in the European stock down report. Team is struggling and he can't get much play, not to mention injuries. Has had only a couple decent games.

Would definitely be cool with a Zizic or Zubac with that Philly pick.

At this point, both of em are mid 20's, that's why I wrote with the C's pick...

I'd be highly surprised if Zubac is available that low.
Zizic maybe, he is basically a rim-runner, really physical player but with not many tools otherwise, he is smart, plays hard and it is tall and mobile, but he is not your finesse big, neither a guy with the defensive profile, he is active though.
I think he is a back-up big most likely, that still holds value.

Zubac's ceiling is another thing, Croatia has really good bigs Arapovic is another guy, been productive in EL already, a tremendous passer but he is the one with the worst physical profile, I am sure he is going to be a guy that contributes in the NBA though, he would be a nice 2nd round pick.

Croatia and France are really full of prospects, crazy talented, Germany is coming too.

This has probably been addressed earlier in the thread but now that we are getting a fairly decent idea of where the Dallas pick will fall (11-15 range) wanted to get peoples thoughts on two bigs who will be available in that range who the preference is.

Both are freshmen: Ivan Rabb and Marquese Chriss. I love Rabb's feel for the game, rebounding and touch around the basket...Chriss is definitely a higher upside pick, much more polished offensively and quite explosive too.

I'd be very happy with either of these guys with the Dallas pick (if we dont package it). Just curious which big you guys would prefer.

I think both are likely going top10-12, especially Rabb, I still need to check who is in and who is not, because it is going to be chaotic until the 25th of May, but highly doubt any of them is there with the Dallas pick, likely between 13 and 16 overall.

I find it interesting that with the exception of Josh Hart (slotted at #41 in the 2017 DraftExpress mock) not a single Villanova player appears in any of the mocks on the leading NBA draft websites. I guess beating Oklahoma by 40 wasn't enough to convince folks that Nova has a few guys who can play.

Bridges, Hart and Brunson are the only real NBA prospects and people dont really think they are coming out.

What's your opinion on one of the guys picked this year at 5-10 outplaying the current group of Celtics' rookie scale contract guys?

Bridges is the highest upside player on that team, though there's no way he's ready. 7-1 wingspan and easy athleticism, but needs to prove he can hit the 3. Hart is a tough SOB and I think will be an NBA rotation player - good defender, rebounder, good enough shooter. Probably depends on how he measures though. DX has his wingspan at only 6-8, but that was back in 2012 so maybe it's a bit better now.

Man hard to say, doubt anybody can outplay Smart, or bring what he does, the rest is wide open, I would likely rank Mickey as a lotto pick this year and other than Bender, Rabb and maybe Zubac due to upside I doubt I'd take any big ahead of him, so there is that, still need to check who is in 100%, there are some interesting projects but no so many guys that can play now.

I guess I'd take Luwawu ahead of Hunter/Young, or Dunn ahead of Rozier, but it is not such a big deal.
If your mindset is about trading-up, I dont think it is worthy unless you really believe in someones upside and ceiling.

I'm not interested in anyone in this draft under 6'9 that isn't named Ingram.

Brown, Hield, Murray, Luwawu, Dunn, Korkmaz, Prince, Valentine? None of those guys?

Valentine especially screams steal of the draft when someone drafts him at like 15-18.

Maybe Brown if Turner walks this year. The rest no. Much more intrigued by this years crop of big men.
