Who drives you crazy?

Post#1 » by fpower » Sun Apr 3, 2016 1:08 pm

When watching the games this year, who do you find yourself yelling at, even if it's only in your head?

1)Reggie - I'm guessing he's on everyone's list.
2)Stanley - He's been awful on offense since he returned from injury. Exacerbated by the fact that Bullock looked really good when he had his chance to play.
3)Van Gundy - I don't hate Anthony Tolliver. I don't hat Aaron Baynes. I don't even hate Steve Blake. What I do hate is seeing them all on the floor at the same time. Drives me nutty.

Usually Stanley. His offensive game makes me cringe.

Andre, more than anyone really. He just plays with his head so far up his ass sometimes, it's unbelievable

Ya I'd have to say Drummond. Seems to not give it his all. And gets frustrated too easily at missed free throws, missed hook shots, pretty much anything. Hopefully come playoff time his intensity picks up. Would love to see some fire outta him.
Stanley has really disappointed me this year. Hopefully he improves and I'm sure he will. His low jump shot along with his lack of hops scares me. Last night he basically had an open Lane and it looked like he woulda/shoulda jammed it home. Instead he barely got up and tried a little finger roll and got it rejected. Was a pretty sad sequence

Posters in game threads!

It's hard enough watching Piston games here in the wonderful land of Oz...to come on here and read some of the stuff blows my mind!

It's almost like every single possession is life or death! Comments fly thick and fast without a second thought as to who is to blame/credit or without seeing the momentum shift

I've seen the boys jack up 4 possessions in a row and people only blame 1 guy! Nobody seems to notice the other 3...

I've come to accept different folks watch with different "goggles" or different levels of experience but it still frustrates me

1) Our PG play... Reggie dribbles into nowhere and creates zero offense far too often, and Steve Blake on the court just makes me mad
2) When KCP dribbles. It's like watching my girlfriend play 2k vs the computer on Hall of fame difficulty
3) Trying to figure out how Drummond can be so bad at FT's
4) Wondering where Dinwiddie and Hilliard are when Reggie, Blake, Stanley, and KCP do nothing

To be fair... I've never watched a game live with anybody where people had reasonable reactions all game. Overreacting and hyperbolizing is a part of the fan/game experience. "Trade his garbage a** while we can!!" is so much more fulfilling than "That was a bad decision there but I have seen him take some strides and...." blah blah blah

Being a mature fan is damn near an oxymoron.

Stanley Johnson has been driving me CRAZY! When u have a second unit that lacks scoring, why TF would you play Johnson when you have Bullock ready to go on the bench?!?

Given Stanley's minutes and shots from last night, Bullock would've easily contributed 10 pts.

I understand that he's lottery pick and you want to get the most out of him, but damn man! Bullock hasn't got a shot in his 3 year career and the Pistons are the perfect candidate for his talents.

Honestly I started to put together a list of team members who drive me crazy every single game and nobody was really on it. Then I started to put together a list of team members who drive me crazy on certain games and every single person was on it.

Except Mike Abdenour. He's a saint.

Similar to KCP, I fee like Stanley's offense will explode if he can develop a consistent jump shot. Johnson has a lot of advantages and versatility based on his size, but I think the scouting report is out: teams are taking away everything else and letting him shoot jumpers. In the beginning of the year it looked like he might be able to make opponents pay...but his shot has steadily gotten worse throughout the course of the year.

With his shooting slump getting deeper and deeper, I think he's also starting to press, and make bad decisions; i.e. turnovers, fouling too much, ugly shots, etc...

I don't know if any of this is due to his shoulder injury. It seems like his offense has been significantly worse since coming back.

 this is so on point, but sadly I'm probably one of the idiots who drive pharaoh crazy.
I definitely get more frustrated at RJ than anyone else. I think it's a mixture of him having so much potential, us paying him so much and him wanting a team to lead so badly. When he doesn't play with energy or makes boneheaded decisions, I think "well you wanted a team to lead, play like it". It's unfair, but I was always a reggie doubter. I'm doing my best to stop it.

Probably Reggie, he's the highest paid Piston so far and he should bring it more consistently especially quarters 1 through 3 on any given night.

That's a given.

The other is Dre. We all know those games where Dre seemingly has low IQ and doesn't contribute anything except jumping high and grabbing a DREB only to get in the way of potential driving lanes of Reggie or KCP on the other end.

Dre missing so many free throws. KCP frequently bricking open threes. And not yet, but I imagine having passed over Devin Booker in the draft will drive me crazy 3-4 years from now (even though myself and most on this board wanted Winslow on draft day).

KCP, but lately Stanley is doing his best to claim that title.

Those guys who want to kill Reggie Jackson for miss some shots and they see him like Hitler or Osama but then he makes some tough clutch shots and they're soooooo quiet

Nobody drives me crazy. I have minimal respect for players who are self-glorifying and lackadaisical.

Well, I agree with the Stanley Johnson craziness, when I see him come in I can always see some nonsense coming. Fouling a 3-point shooter, head down to the basket drawing a charge, front rimming a shot, he's just not good right now. It also bothers me that Bullock seemed to be getting comfortable when he played with KCP/Johnson out, now he doesn't even see the floor, while SVG is complaining about KCP being out of gas.
