the often complete unwillingness to compromise this past two presidential terms by the repub congress is the worst for many decades easily. they have been super petty to the point of shutting down federal operations and putting the country at great risk and still make that threat to shut down the govt. this extremism has not seen anything at all similar from the dem party in any of our lifetimes

Any numbers to back that up? Or are you talking from your gut?
You are allowed to feel the way you do, but I feel like the government, on BOTH SIDES has been doing this for quite some time. Even the supreme court nomination debacle is a repeat of something the Dem's did. Obama's nomination was a great ploy, I don't think he would want it to go through, but he KNEW the republicans would say no anyway. good save-face move.

you want numbers? lol if you demand numbers to prove the more extreme parts of the repub party is more obstructing then ive got nothing more to say to you about it. its been obvious to anyone with eyes and you ask for numbers

This post right here is what is wrong with politics... So much god damn finger pointing and not enough people sitting down and hammering chit out. It's on both sides but, neither side wants to admit it. It's like when 2 brothers fight and get sent to their rooms and blame the other one for what happened and don't talk to each other for a few days and act all stubborn. Except in politics there's been no effort to reconcile after that period, and realize we're all Americans looking for a better life, after the not talking to each other. They're all just stubborn little kids who don't want to meet in the middle

This post right here is what's wrong with politics. The right is obstructing at every possible opportunity. This is not debatable. Centrism just means the right gets what they want. People want to "sit down and hammer it out" but the right wants none of it. Look at Obama's nomination, no reason he should not get a hearing, yet the right want to obstruct because Obama.

You already have your belief that one side is the problem. It is impossible to even engage in conversation if the notion is "side A is correct, side B sucks"
Guess what, the WHOLE SYSTEM is broken and you know whose fault it is? Americans. They are the ones that keep voting in Mitch McConnell and keep voting for the stalemate. They are the ones who say "but he's really a democrat" or "he's really a republican" Being "centerist" or "moderate" or "independent" are basically all slurs at this point.

Can we get a little more "Jackson" and a little less "Clueless" outta you?? (I joke)

Instead of talking about how crappy some people are, can you at least put out there what your definition of a fair policy is? You don't like what the rebublican machine is doing: you feel they don't compromise. What is compromise? What would your definition of a republican equivalent on the dem side even look like?

look this got all fluffed up when someone says one party is not obstructing more than the other. saying that right on the tail of the repub leadership saying they would not let a supreme court nomination go ahead with 9 full months left in obamas term is not just obstructing but offensive even to many traditional republicans. so lets not kid ourselves about compromising and where the worst tendencys are coming from these days

and that is why i had to    at someone say "give me numbers". so easy these days when you dont like opinions to say show me numbers. thats what lots of BSers do these days. its just putrid bs and has nothing to do with how to reach agreements in dc

not trashing you but the original reply was nuts so if you are going to pick up the rope and keep pulling it for them all i have to say is the repubs have no problem shutting down the govt to get what they want. they did it before and they took it to the brink again. that is really reckless way of negotiating and is not evidence of able to work out compromise

I think it's becoming clear Trump's campaign crew is dropping the ball big time. They have been completely outmatched so far in this political process and have ridden on Trump's charisma alone. They've done little and have been directionless in states that have been critical for them to campaign in. Getting enough delegates to avoid a brokered convention is most likely out of reach now.

Yeah. He won't be the president. But if he were, like 80% of the country could band together and sing kumbaya under the banner "**** that guy."
