2016 Season

Post#1 » by ADDinChicago » Wed Apr 6, 2016 9:40 am

Well, so far 2-0 on the little roadie in Anaheim and now it's on to Arizona. Cubs have looked really good at the plate and on the mound so far. Yes, just 2 games in, but it feels good.

What feels really good to me is guys like Montero, David Ross, Matt Sczur cranking the bat.

Bringing in Dexter looks like a genius move right. He's sprinting out of the box.

Lester looks pinpoint, and his pitches are what you expect from a cerebral pitcher.

The numerous bats Maddon has gives the team so much flexibility. Obviously it's still early in the season, but it appears they're not distracted by the preseason hype, just focused on just having fun out there.

Great start to the season. Too early to tell how well we're going to do with the hype and pressure, but man our one through nine is devastating.

p.s.
Very excited to see you guys back here again!

Maybe our best free agent signing this year was Dexter Fowler. He's on fire.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

So far Fowler is looking like icing on a great offensive cake. We're raking and Bryant and Russel haven't done anything yet. I think we're in a position where we have so many big bats that even if a few are cold were going to be a threat every game.

Now the interesting part is how the Lackey, Hamel, and Hendricks do.

looks like the pitchers can afford to have some off nights because the offense looks like it will rarely be out of a game

i think in most cases lackey wouldn't have made it to the 4th inning but when you're scoring like the cubs are you can get away with more

rizzo is the best

So far 50 and 60 pitch counts in the 2nd and 3rd innings for the opposing team is pretty normal.

90 freakin' pitches with 2 outs in the 3rd.

7 runs. SEVEN!

Can't wait till the warm weather gets to Wrigley and the bats start heating up.

Just a good and fun game for the Cubs all around. Arrieta is filthy and he is having so much fun, yet remains focused out there. It's nice to see.

Starting with that game in Cincy, the next week is a great chance to keep putting distance between them and the division playing and hopefully beating up on bad Reds and Brewers teams. And then they get a bad Braves team.
