It's officially official. The Colangelo era begins.

Honestly, as a respected businessman, how can Harris defend this?

problem for the "protest" crowd, is that the masses and casual fan are totally on board with this. as well as the national media (which matters more than you realize)

we're outnumbered. 127 people protesting outside the WFC isn't going to do a damn thing

At least it's a good move in that it hopefully saves Hinkie's health. Dude seemed like a wreck because of the stress. At least Colangelo is probably stupid enough that the stress of sacrificing the Sixers future won't matter at all.

If Hinkie had of at least seen out the offseason we would have been in a so much better place. This organization screwed him over bad. Joke.

I know our realgm board put together the Save our Bucks fundraisers to put up a billboard to convince ownership to tank. It worked in a way too that was the year we got Parker. I would contact EastSideBucksFan poster on our board as I believe he was a big part of that. It was before I started posting there but those guys rock.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

2 more games at home. I'd imagine the Colangelos will be at one of them with Harris. Time to sell out The Center and rain boos upon them.

I'd rather have Prokhorov as an owner, even he didn't hire Bryan.

Now we're going to be stuck with Okafor too.

"I believe we can build around him"

-Bryan Colangelo, probably.

Stupid teams make desperate short-sighted decisions. The Sixers are officially a stupid franchise. I was secretly hoping that the hiring of Jerry wouldn't spell the end for Hinkie but alas...

Is Harris a respected businessman? He's just a hedge fund dude. He's good at playing the market and minimizing the tax burden for people who entrust him with their dough, which is a skill sure....but it's not like he's out there effectively running businesses.

Nothin' but the truth there. The casual fans are the masses, for every team really.

Byran was the one of the worst GM's in the league prior to his firing in Toronto. Hiring him means signing mediocre talent to big money. Noone knows how to eat through cap space faster then this guy.

Funny thing is, a similar thing happened to Colangelo in Toronto when he stepped down after they brought someone else in. And Masai Ujiri was about to break up the team when pretty much the EXACT team Bryan built came in first in their division and won it with the same coach as the previous year. Much of the core is the same. At least Valuncias, Lowry and DeRozan were all acquisitions made before. He obviously made his share of mistakes though.

I wonder if he had not pulled the trigger on the trade last summer dealing MCW (which I had heard he had to really convince ownership to allow him to make that trade) if that started the process of them wanting to bring someone else in. Though I'm sure you guys know more details regarding that.

0-30 and Okafor assaulting hecklers was the tipping point, not the excellent MCW trade.

Yeah, that probably didn't help. But when you suddenly trade your first draft pick for a future pick that may not be conveyed for a few years, that is admitting a mistake. It will look a little better if you get the 4th pick this year, but it will have been MCW for Dunn or Hield or Murray, and those are unknowns (and of course that is probably a best case scenario). And if you are saying MCW sucked, than that admits he doesn't make great picks.

None of the picks look all that great now tbh...of course some are unknowns. Noel was a good player acquired via trade, but you had to give up an all star and I don't know if Noel will ever be one.

Granted, I am kind of playing devil's advocate here. I'd probably be super pissed if I was a Philly fan because I'd want to see it play out, but at least you still have all those assets (future picks) regardless.

His final act may be blocking Austin Colangelo from getting this job. They wanted to keep hinkie and use him as cover allowing for Austin getting the job via nepotism. Now because of PR I can see them swerving and going for Ferry.
