Boston ahead, they turn it over, without having a closer to go to.

GSW ball down 2, with 30 seconds to play.

Boston basically shows how a starless team of complimentary 3&D role players and supersubs can mesh well together and overachieve, just need that finishing piece to put them over the top and they will give the Cavs a run for their money. Already have a system in place and the blueprints, we're not even there yet

That was us in season 1.

There's been a lot of teams in that 4-8 seed historically that were never close to really contending, but either made the jump like GSW / Houston or ended up rebuilding like Denver / Utah.

Anyone surprised at these poll results? viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1434402

It's tough to know how good they really are. I think of them being good, and I thought the East was better this year (and it is a little better than usual) and I know they have played the Warriors really tough in at least of there last four matchups, winning one and losing on in 2OT. But then when we play them it's close.

Then I think of our team from two years ago that won 48 and didn't make the playoffs, and the 3rd seed that year also had 48 wins, and then look at the eastern standings this year and it looks like the 3 seed will likely end up with about that many wins this year, and Boston could finish anywhere 3-6.

Fortunately for Boston, with Brooklyn's pick the next three years, they are basically going to stock up with young talent while trying to compete.

If they do somehow get Horford or Durant, or even Love, they could get quite a bit better soon, and I think their coaching is good.

But for the most part, it feels like there are really only about 4-6 teams that are a notch above everyone else, and then maybe another tier of above avg teams. But most of the teams in the bottom tier could easily jump into the above avg tier at any time. It's just really difficult to jump into that top tier.

Very surprised. Everything considered, Brolo is the more complete player. Rolo is the better defensive player but not significantly better whereas Brolo's offense is miles ahead of Rolo's.

It's funny, the poll was 36-20 after my vote for Brook, but now it's 36-27.

It was 22 for Brook after I had voted. Still surprised though. Must be the injury factor?

Sixers fans are PISSED about the Hinkie deal. Especially pissed they hired Bryan Colangelo

I would be too if i was one. Everything youre counting on for three years now, enduring the trashtalk, for this. This is the type of move that makes hardcore fans lose interest.

I wonder if attendance and casual fans will improve immediately next year. Probably sell more tickets for next year. I liked this.

I am confused why Sixers fans are so dejected by this. I do not get it. What am I missing. Their team is like the worst team in basketball every year and now they are bringing in a new GM who happens to have a history of success when he is teamed with his Dad. What is the big deal. Shouldn't the fans be ecstatic.

My guess is many casual fans and fans overall are probably happy, but many die hard fans wanting to believe in Hinkie are mad that they couldn't see what he might eventually do, but obviously there is no evidence that he can build a winner...far from it.

I'm not sure what Hinkie should've done differently. Noel, Embiid and Okafor were all clearly BPA. He even got our Laker pick. :x

For what feels like the fourth straight season, the Timberwolves win the award for Best Lottery Team Worth An April Watch -- edging out the Bucks, who are going through a bit of a Point Giannis hangover. The team's all-youth starting five has poured in nearly 117 points per 100 possessions, a mark that would lead the league, and they are a bouncy, fast-paced delight when they get rolling.

To the shock of literally no one, Zach LaVine is thriving next to Ricky Rubio; LaVine has drained 47 percent of his triples since emerging as a full-time starter, and all that time masquerading as a point guard gave him the dribbling oomph to attack scrambling defenses when Rubio whips him the ball.

Rubio has never been better. He's shooting with confidence from all over the floor, tossing his usual one-step-ahead-of-everyone passes and hustling on defense. He just makes people better.

Gorgui Dieng has done enough alongside Karl-Anthony Towns to at least make the Wolves think about his long-term place with the franchise, and what sort of frontcourt partner would suit Towns best. They are both really centers, and playing together means one of them needs to chase stretchy power forwards around the perimeter. That can get awkward. Ditto for the spacing on offense, especially given the limitations of both Rubio and Andrew Wiggins.

But this group can score, and they will get better defensively with experience.

It's a great point. McD could've easily gone down this route had we not had that 48 win season for his rookie GM season. I mean there isn't really any evidence he can build a winner either coming in.

Wow. Sixers fans are angry about Hinkie stepping down and the BC hire. They have really been in love with their own tank. I would think they would be thrilled to have JC in charge helping them to build a competitive team. They say they are worried about being the 6-8 seed again, but JC was never happy with that. All that was ever in his eyes was a championship. Oh well. I lived there for a while. Philly fans love to be angry.

Philly fans don't know and love jerry and trust him the way we would. All philly fans know is BC made poor choices with the raptors and may make them again now that he's managing their team.
We may be able to get that Lakers pick back from BC to move their rebuild forward.
