Good read.

Well, it's been a night, I'm going to wallow in my despair somewhere else more appropriate.

Ban that Raptors fans first.

Damn sixerBros, you all seem united in thinking this is a bad idea, that's a rare thing and it's a shame the ownership doesn't have the same patience.

Good luck

They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

The thing that's going to suck is, when this father/son tandem ruin this team, it will never be talked about, because the fans will go back to not caring about basketball and being apathetic, so they will get a free ride. Hinkie got a lot of negative backlash, but he also had a ton of positive too. The Colangelos will get no backlash. It'll just be crickets all over social media, and everywhere else.

Bryan Colangelo is first and foremost a man of character. High character at that. He prides himself on putting a premium on acquiring character guys.

He's acquired 4 of the Raptors' rotation players, all high character guys. He's a talented linguist and a man of many talents in the boardroom when it comes to communicating with owners. He's also incredibly savvy with the media, using buzz terms like "organic growth" or "accelerating the rebuild" (which you guys will see plenty of).

Perhaps his only downside is that he doesn't drink water bottles at his press conferences, he's always incredibly hesitant at taking a sip.

Good luck Philly, Bryan will absolutely do great things with your franchise.

PS Did I mention he puts a high premium on character?

Before you do ban all rap fans from posting...

I think it's too bad ownership jumped the gun, Sam did a lot of the heavy lifting for you guys and the future is bright...

As for BC. I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised by him. Yes he made some mistakes in Toronto. Fell in love with Bargs, overpaid free agents, etc. But he did a lot of good for toronto. The roster that is winning for us now is very heavy with BC guys. Masai came in and rearranged the cards and made things better, but he had some very good pieces to work with because of BC.

Also BC is a smart dude. There is no way he hasn't looked back on his time in Toronto with regret over the mistakes. I think he can do really well with a smart rebuild (assuming your ownership hasn't put a win now mandate in place).

Anyways good luck in the draft, I want you guys, not lakers to win it. (well okay I want Denver and New York to get into the top 3 but screw lakers, you guys deserve a top pick.

i can't believe there are people in this thread who think teams are "clamoring" to bring Hinkie in right now.

you all understand part of the reason this happened is because Hinkie is so socially inept and hated around the league by players/agents/GM's/owners/coaches? not to mention "the masses" of NBA fans.
he'll get a lower level assistant GM job with the Grizzlies or some mediocre franchise at the moment.

and I'm sure I'll attacked for this post as some "hater". which I'm not. i love Hinkie, but the dude has his ego, and his flaws.
