No he isn't on the same level. He is good at staying vertical and altering shots with his size and length. Good presence in the paint, but not fleet of foot. Downside is that he often gets into foul trouble, usually because he commits dumb unnecessary fouls. That and he falls down a lot, sometimes to the detriment of the team. He has not averaged more than 29.8 mpg for an entire season.

hes a traditional defensive center...cant get up and down the court as quick as guys like dwight, deandre, or chandler...but he's solid and injury free, and a serviceable starter...thats all we could really ask for.

His defense isn't at the same level but I liked that he stepped up and got aggressive on Tuesday against the Jazz. Hope he can keep it up.

Hibbert needs a coach like Thibbs to reach that level. Hibbert is a step below those 2 dpoy but he is a really good defender.

OT: I hope we keep upshaw, and he and Hibbert have block parties in practice.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

He's played better defensively in 3 pre-season games than I saw from Dwight Howard the entire season he was here. Injury, excuses, role, whatever.

Read them all you want, don't bump them needlessly.
