The Brooklyn pick has been a roller coaster ride. It's like a movie where you think you know what is going to happen, then things change and you start doubting yourself. Then you convince yourself that things are not going to end well. Followed by: well it is not going to be as good as I thought it was going to be but it is still good. Then at the last second its like, wait, there is still a chance.

Awesome!!

Goes to show, you can't look at an upcoming schedule and just start marking automatic Ls and Ws.

It never quite works the way you think it's going to over several games.

Preseason surefire playoff teams Chicago and Houston on the brink of elimination. Their fans are miserable tonight. Phoenix fans are just as miserable because the Suns won. Celtic fans are ecstatic.

This is a great time of year.

More ping pong balls, please.

I actually thought Suns had a good shot at this one after Rockets lost a tough Dallas game yesterday...this team has folded consistently this year in the face of adversity.

Cannot overestimate the importance of finishing behind Suns in the standings...not so much for the increased lottery odds but more importantly for picking in front of them if neither team moves up. McDonough and Ainge have very similar talent evaluation philosophies and it is highly likely that Ryan would snag Ainge's guy one pick before...considering there is limited star power in this draft this could very well be the difference between getting a star or a rotation player.

Nets will not win another game. Their basically a D-League team. Suns may win their final three. Looking good.

When would the coin flip be, if it came down to it.

way to go suns! what a bonanza.

flip side is, dallas basically clinches a playoff spot. oh well.

there is no coin flip. suns+nets would split lottery balls for the 3/4 spots if they end up tied.

Isn't there a coin flip to determine draft order?

@BobbyMarks42: With Memphis making the playoffs, earliest 1st (9-30) conveyed to Boston will now be 2019 if Grizzlies send first (6-30) to Denver in 2017.

Yes to determine post lotto order if neither moves up.

They split balls for the lotto and if none of them jump up then they have a coin flip as a tie breaker.

Also, Nets probably beat Washington or if not then Raptors. Both have nothing to play for.

**** I'm good.

I'm as good as the Rockets are bad.

I'm terrified that the Suns will make an explicit organizational choice to not win another game, and Brooklyn will effort one out against a team that doesn't care. But, just got to take it one day at a time... We're in a better spot than we were 24 hours ago.

Love how nobody like 5 people chime in, but nobody answers the original question haha. I believe it is the day before the NBA playoffs begin. Of note, the Warriors kept their 2012 top 7 protected pick by winning a coin flip and selected Harrison Barnes 7th. They also selected 35th (not their own pick) and drafted Draymond Green. Any guesses as to who sent them that pick? The answer - the Brooklyn Nets. Nets fans are killing themselves right now.

If the Suns play the squad, they played against Rockets, vs the Pelicans, they get another win, which will basically guarantee they end up at least tied with BKN for 3rd worst record... I hope this happens!!!! We need it!
Good assessment:

Even if the Suns play their 3rd lineup against the Pelicans, they got a decent chance to win! So cheers to that!

Btw, BKN's next 2 games are against the Hornets away and against Indiana away, both teams playing for playoff seeding.

It's pretty fun to be able to root for ping pong balls and the third seed in the playoffs.
