Have the Celtics been in this position before? I'm a relatively new fan (old fan but haven't followed the team closely until about 4 years ago) so I have no idea.

Len Bias in 86 draft after we won the championship.

I loved PHO win yesterday, loved it.

Does not matter DAL now probably makes playoffs, BRK pick is far more important. Really hope PHO can win onother one or two. I think they need two, becuase still we must know BRK will probably play WAS and TOR benches last 2 games.

Now if we go back to DAL pick, our new best case scenario is now 15th pick. I still think UTA beats DAL at home pretty easily, so that would give DAL max. 43 wins. If they finish with 43 we need other teams who are just infront of them to win 44. How are remaining teams schedules:

20. POR 43 (MIN, DEN) will win one
19. IND 42 (@TOR, BRK, NY, @MIL) should win 2
18. DET 42 (WAS, MIA, @CLE) one game, doubt 2 are possible
17. MEM 42 (@DAL, GSW, @LAC, @GSW) do not see them winning 2 games
16. UTA 39 (LAC, @DEN, DAL, @LAL) could win all 4, but thta still puts them only on 43 wins

So DAL pick can be anywhere from 15th to 18-19th..not as good we hoped for, but...BRK pick is far more important!!!

It's nice the suns lost but I still think the nets will get wins against the Wizards and the raptors.

According to Basketball Reference website, Dallas has an 82% chance of picking 15 or 16. They have a 10% chance at missing the playoffs. Only an 8% chance at picking after 17-20 (almost all of that is pick 17).

I don't the see the Nets beating the Wizards especially with Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young out. They're that bad. I Also don't see them beating the Raptors. The Nets are a bad team. Brook Lopez saved them from giving the Celtics a Top 2 pick.

We have a rooting interest in 6 games tonight.

BOS over MIL of course, but also: CHA over BRK (chance at 3rd pre-lotto pick trumps BOS seeding); ORL over MIA (BOS seeding/HCA); DET over WAS (DAL seeding, conceding that they probably make playoffs); IND over TOR (ditto previous rationale); MEM over DAL (ditto previous rationale + keeps very slim hope that DAL drops into lottery alive); UTA over LAC (DAL seeding).

Quite a night for scoreboard watching!!

I think the wizards game goes either way but the raptors will be playing guys 8-15 the whole time so I see the nets winning that game.

I think Phoenix will win 1 or 2 more games. They will almost certainly beat Sacramento (Rondo, Cousins confirmed out) and 50/50 they win at NO.

As far as Brooklyn, I can't see them winning more than 1 more game. The Toronto game is 50/50 as their 8-15 is about as talented as Brooklyn's 1-8. They have worse odds at beating Washington as some of Washington's top players will still be playing in that game.

We need WAS motivated till Monday!!...they have to win in DET tonight and Sunday home CHA...that way they would be 40:40 going into BRK game Monday with a tiebreaker over DET, who would be at 42:38 with two games left which are Tuesday MIA and Wednesday at CLE.

Plus if DET would lose tonight and Tuesday against MIA...WAS would be in play also on Wednesday when they play ATL at home...so it could have big implications also on BOS seeding.

We need WAS win tonight!!!

I think this would be a "nice to have", but I don't think Washington will rest all their starters even if they are eliminated (they might give one or two guys the night off). Phoenix's opponents are far more likely to "tank" as those losses have far more value to Sacramento and NO.

Two more years of this :D hopefully we can change third seed to "championship."

KD, no one can offer what Boston has. An organizational winner, longevity for yourself (no one on the Celtics played 34 MPG this season - remarkable.) and an easy route to building a sustained contender with high end draft picks or the trading of those picks for established players. While being in the east with a dysfunctional Cleveland team. Come on.

KD + three top five picks is a wet dream of mine presently.

The Wiz might be motivated by a .500 season. And of course at least the Raptors have no reason to lose.

Suns have two eminently winnable games left, maybe three if LAC decides to rest guys going into the playoffs. NOP and Sacto could easily lose to PHX.

BKN has lost their last six by an astounding 19.3 PPG. I don't even know how to comprehend that.

Clippers resting @ Utah tonight..

Hope they're back on the 10th unlike what it says above, they take on Dallas then.

There's still a fraction of hope left Dallas misses the playoffs, if they lose tonight against Memphis would definitely help. Memphis already secured a playoff berth so they should play relaxed.

This summer will be so fun I think. I'm not sure I'll like the team we end up with but I think THIS season is finally the season in which a inge has the assets, players available and money to make something happen.

If we have another summer like last with what we have available to us to work with then it's time to take a long hard look at who's in charge. But I don't think it's coming to that.
