3 or 4 teams can still finish 42-40- Ho would the tiebreakers work then?
I read, but haven`t check, that if WAS, DET, CHI and IND are tied (DET and IND need to lose all and CHI and WAS need to win all) then it is Bulls and Wizards who are through.
We have the tiebreaker against the Bulls and the Pacers have one against the Wizards.
On the other hand, the Bulls hold the tiebreaker over the Pacers and the Wizards have one over us.
Wizards have the tiebreaker over the Bulls and Pacers over us.
So if I had to guess I'd actually say it would be Wizards/Pacers, since they hold the most relevant tiebreakers. Unless you know something I don't.
Ok, checked. The tiebreaker is the better winning percentage in games against each other. So if DET and IND losses all and WAS and CHI wins all, all teams will be 42-40 and the order will be:
1. WAS 7-3 (DET 4-0, IND 1-2, CHI 2-1),
2. IND 6-5 (DET 3-1, CHI 1-3, WAS 2-1),
3. CHI 5-6 (DET 1-3, IND 3-1, WAS 1-2),
4. DET 4-8 (WAS 0-4, IND 1-3, CHI 3-1).
Bottom line: you were right
