Beal is a pretty solid finisher and has a nice floater. Can do a lot more than Korver but can't shoot like him

Agreed. Beal is not being utilized in a manner that maximizes his skills. He should never be in one-on-one isolation against anybody. He needs to catch the ball on the move going around a curl, or on a side pick-and-roll, or on a backdoor cut. He's pretty effective when going to the basket now that he's developed that 12-foot floater. Obviously, he's also good in catch-and-shoot situations from behind the arc. He's also a pretty good passer.

Basically, he should never dribble more than twice per touch. I could see him playing great in a ball-movement system like San Antonio's.

Or systems where they have multiple people that can break down the defense and he would be the 3rd or 4th option. But then, you would pay him like he is the 3rd or 4th option :)

For my sins, I'm in Key West -- wasn't able to watch the game. I don't like it when we lose, and I don't like it when Beal doesn't look good.

53 guys have played 25 or more minutes a game at SG this year. Among those players, Beal is 14th in scoring but only 21st in TS%. Given his TS%, it's no surprise that he gets to #14 in scoring by being #13 in FGAs. He's slightly above average in getting to the line, but his FT% is below average in this group.

These #s don't speak well for Brad, though the objection will be that he's "high usage." Unfortunately, you want the opposite: someone who is high usage *and* an above average efficiency scorer. Otherwise, he's not helping you win games (e.g. see our record).

In this same group, Bradley is also slightly below average in rebounding & assists.

The obvious comparison -- the guy we want him to be -- is Klay Thompson. The difference? Thompson's TS% is .60 vs. Brad at .54. It's a big difference.

If it doesn't matter why am I crying!

I hate the Wizards for ruining my life

Young fan? You'll get used to this team breaking your heart...

OLD FAN- I knew coming into this year that Erinie was setting me up by not drastically improving the team last summer and "loading up" to go after Durant. I saw it but I still brought into this team making some noise. Kobe is right...you either win the championship or you LOST THAT YEAR. The wiz didn't do anything to get closer to winning a ring last off season and I should have known that staying static is going backwards in sports as it is in business. You improve or get passed and we got passed.

I still think it is possible for a team to talk themselves into overpaying for Beal. I think the argument Beal and his agent are going to use is that Klay Thompson is a few years older and Thompson posted a similar TS% as Beal when he was the same age. I would love to lock down Beal into a favorable contract because frankly his play hasn't been good enough to warrant a max contract.
