One more win for the Suns, and we got top 3 in the books. Hoping for #1!

Just saw this on Twitter which is very good news for Boston's pick chances. I was unaware of this pattern and considering SAC's final two games are on the road at Phoenix and Houston is definitely worth noting.

Tweet is in response to a question about the purpose of SAC winning some of these late season games (won last night against OKC).

@haralabob: Its sporting? They are doing it right imo, trying to win at home. Resting their players on the road. https://t.co/ZMMCKYHxp5

Kings announced that Cousins will not play in the final two games. I hope the Kings decide to rest even more players for tomorrow's game against the Suns.

King's pick is top 10 protected, and they are 1 game from the slot.

Pretty much. I think Danny will be having tons of discussion if that pick doesn't land 1 or 2. If no deal is worth doing, then just pick best player available regardless of position.

I want to keep the pick regardless. There's only like 3-4 guys I'd move it for. Guys like Love, Gasol and Cousins aren't worth it for me

Going to be a fun few days scoreboard watching. BBref projections give Dallas a sub 5% chance at missing the playoffs but those will jump substantially with a Clippers win against Dallas and Houston beating the Lakers today.

Sounds like Coach/GM in Houston on the hot seat so probably not packing it in for the year.

I view getting Love with the #3 pick as a situation similar to trading for Ray Allen. Trading for an over 30 Allen just to play with Pierce with no KG would have been a terrible trade. If they get Love and this helps entice a top free agent to come over, I'd trade for him in a heartbeat. I believe the Celtics could use him far better than Cleveland and I think players/agents would understand that as well.

I can't see the Suns losing to the Kings. The Kings are dangerously close to coughing up their pick to the Bulls, and already declared their big guys out.

As I've said a few times, the Suns youth works against them at years end. Young guys work their @$$ off, trying to prove they belong, while veteran teams just go through the motion.

Crowder-Love-Horford works, but Crowder-Durant-Love doesn't or shouldn't. We could bench Crowder as 6th man, but that still requires getting a good defensive center. Which might now be there. That's the issue with trading for Love.

Any 1-6 pick team that's primarily looking for a 7 footer, may not be fussy which of these early picks it gets. Most likely only one will be taken in this range--and to boot there is hardly any consensus so far as to which of the bigs has the best shot. In fact, when it comes to centers, this draft seems to be a crapshoot. The best one may turn out to be some European selected in the 20s.

And as to the non-centers taken, i think there is little distinction between say 1-4. At least in terms of what we actually know at this time...

So while getting pick 3 has importance in terms of leverage, and more possibility, it may matter very little in the end--esp with this draft. At least I'm thinking this way if I am Phoenix.

We all know SAC is trying to protect their draft pick (if not top 10, than going to CHI), but regardless of that multiple teams are so close at 32 and 33 wins that if you rest players they should go all in.

With win last night (playing all except Rondo) they went from sole 7th worst to tie with MIL/NY for 7th-9th and DEN being 10th with one more win....so 1 more win, lets say in PHO and pick would go from 7th to 10th. If they are smart they will rest Cousins, Gay and Rondo, should do it against OKC yesterday...does not matter if it was the last game in old arena!

But who is the KG in this situation? We got KG because all of the stars aligned to make a trade work. Free agency is a different beast.

There's a ton of potential "Ray Allen" moves out there. That's the easy part.

Todays games:

Dallas @ Clippers

Clippers will play their starting 5! No way the Mavs can stop Chris Paul or the Clippers. Both Barea (MVP) and DWill are game time decision with groin injuries, if they aggrevate those they could miss significant time...

Utah @ Denver

Faried is game time decision, Darrell Arthur is out.

Toronto @ Knicks

If Toronto beats NY, they force Cleveland to play their starters tomorrow against ATL in order to clinch the 1st seed. So we need Toronto to beat the Knicks, Porzingis game time decision.

Brooklyn @ Indiana

Paul George game time decision (knee) but hopefully Indiana doesn't choke this one, "should" be easy.

Charlotte playing Wizards right now, tomorrow os a b2b for them against Boston.

Miami @ home vs the Magic.

Love isn't my preferred target but if we could do:

Brooklyn, Dallas and Boston firsts to NYC for Melo
Melo to Cleveland
Love to Boston

Sign whiteside and Turner.

Well DAL is still not in, but off course lucky bas. :curse: will make it playing SAS bench last game of season.

But if stars align and DAL loses all 3...12 th is still possible. What has to happen:

- HOU to go 3:0 (LAL, @MIN, SAC)
- CHI to go 2:0 (@NOP, PHI)
- WAS to go 3:0 (CHA, @BRK,ATL)
- UTA to go 2:1 or 3:0 (@DEN, DAL, @LAL)

That way DAL would stay at 41 wins with WAS and coin flip would decide 12th or 13th pick.

But yes...this is dreaming, because SAS bench will lose...but man :banghead: how close it was :noway:

We will always remember MVP Barea

I have a question that I hope doesn't matter, but if Brooklyn and Phoenix were to end the season with the same record, why would it be a coin flip to see who is #3 and who is #4 going into the lottery?

They played earlier this year and unfortunately Brooklyn won, so I would think that would be the tie-breaker? (not that I want it to be) Like I said, hopefully this is all moot, I'm just curious as to the rule if anyone happens to know it offhand.

If they finish tied they simply split the odds. No tie breaker scenario. Here's to hoping it doesn't come to that though.
