Mostly ignorant on this stuff, so correct me if you need to. But isn't beal's leg issue a growth plate thing? So when he stops growing, it'll stop being a problem?? I've assumed stress reactions, like his, go away once growth is finished.

This one of those rare and weird times, that i am not brilliantly correct?
Will you fools ever realize that when the cameras are on and the microphones are hot, they are Lying to you! Lying to illicit a prescribed reaction, to easier manipulate you.

Useful idiots!

One thing that no one seems to know is his agent is Rich Paul. So yeah, it'd be best to keep him unnoticed for a while so nobody tries to pry him and or try to do anything stupid like demand a supermax.

Beal missed 54 games in his first three seasons and has already been sidelined 21 games in this one. The primary culprit: a troublesome right leg that has been plagued by stress reactions, a chronic problem that Beal, 22, admitted recently could force him to monitor his minutes for the rest of his career.

The problem is that Beals stress reactions are caused by

“Stress reactions and stress fractures come from repetitive impact activities,” said Dr. T.O. Souryal, the Mavericks’ former team physician and the host of a sports medicine radio show in Dallas. “Unfortunately, basketball is full of repetitive running and jumping. Practices are more impactful than games in some situations. Recurrent stress reactions are pretty rare. In general, they are worrisome; you have to manage them so they don’t progress.”

I doubt Butler is going anywhere, but if he was going to be moved, Chicago would be at the disadvantage, and it would be to the buyer's benefit. At that point, it isn't convincing Chicago they're getting enough value to make the deal, it's a bidding war with the other handful of teams interested that have reasonable assets.

You almost never hear the response "wow, they gave up a lot to get that guy." Rather, every fan says "why didn't my GM make that deal if it was so cheap."

Except there is no reason why they have to trade him. He just signed a new deal, is only 26, and is having a career year. Like you said, teams rarely get equal value for stars, so why would they deal him for less if they don't have to and he's playing great?

The only way the Bulls deal him is if they have no choice. This wouldn't be a trade that the Bulls made unless something is being forced, either on Butler's side or on the team side. And in both of those situations, his value takes a hit. That's the only way I see him being moved. He's an All-Star guard in his prime. You don't trade that away to start a rebuild.
