Potential Playoff Seeding

Toronto is two games back from Cleveland and they play the 76ers and the Nets for their last 2 games. So they will most likely win out. Now, if we beat Cleveland and they lose to Detroit in their next game that means they will tie with the Toronto. Toronto owns the h2h matchup which would drop the Cavs to the 2 seed meaning we would face them in the 2nd round of the playoffs (assuming we get out of the first round). But..who cares, let's fight for 50 wins! Go Hawks!!!

These next few days will probably determine how far into May this Hawks team gets. Aiming for 50, don't want to let the Heat dictate their own fate for the 3 seed.

Agreed. If we tie Miami at 49 wins do they own the tiebreaker or do we?

They do, they won the season series 3-1.

I love our chances in this one if Dennis plays as well as he did on Saturday. Millsap needs to play smart and not pick up any cheap fouls early so he will be able to defend Lebron late.

Yikes. For some reason I thought we had beaten Miami twice this year.

We had a terrible loss against them when they rested most of their starters.

http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400828695

That 5 game stretch was just brutal with 4 losses that should been wins.

We lost @ Orl by 2 and then we go home to face Orlando and lose in OT when we were up by 11 going in to the 4th.

We get a solid W against Chicago before losing to Miami's bench by 4 and to Milwaukee in Double OT.

We are 0-5 in OT games this season.

Ah, yes. Now it's coming back to me. That was around the time when I had created this game thread http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1428549

We really effed up during that stretch. We could easily be looking at around 52-55 wins if we had taken care of business during that time.

We also had a home win over Charlotte in the middle of that stretch. The L to Miami is what could really come back to bite.

The stretch I am looking at is 2/7 through 2/20 so before and after the all-star break. We played Charlotte on 2/28.

You're right. I just remember the Charlotte win was after a win over Chicago, but we beat Chicago twice in two weeks.

A pair of teague turnovers cost us 5 points and a chance to have solid separation 7 minutes in to the game

Dennis gambles too much on defense to draw the Irving assignment.

Hawks managed to allow ZERO offensive rebounds against a team that, of late, has dominated us on the boards.

Clearly something the coaching staff has focused on in preparation for this team.

These missed FTs are killing us. Our best FT shooters are missing opportunities while thompson knocks down both of his

Looks like we're just taking one step forward and two steps back. These missed free throws will be the death of us.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
