Our front office feels very confident at developing a "potential" product. Recently, they've done a good job with Chalmers, Cole, Whiteside, TJ and Josh Richardson, with the exception of Napier which we all know he was drafted because of Lebron. I really like this signing, it's adding another athletic defensive minded player.

When people talk of scouting and player development, we're not one of the teams that spring to everyone's minds. But we really ought to be. Doing a tremendous job since LeBron left. Really hopeful of Briante as well.

I remember Spo getting crapped on because we didn't "draft" well and we didn't bring on young talent. The argument we gave at the time was that it wasn't the moment to spend too long developing players as we wanted to win the championship again and again. When Lebron quit we thought we'd be in for a few years without the chance of a championship and so wanted out of the tax which meant developing the little talent we could find. We've done magnificently - in fact so good that we're almost back in the championship equation - possible no.3 seed.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

I'd give the credit to Riley rather than Spo, but agreed otherwise.

I would give credit to Kamerrer for scouting them and Spo and his staff for actually developing them.

I meant the shift in our approach. That has more to do with Riley than anyone else.

I get what you are saying .. I'm just saying maybe the results produced by the aforementioned parties is what is forcing Riles to change his approach.

We are too quick to blame and too quick to give credit. It's a system, Riley has been developing this for years here in Miami and it's starting to come to fruition with the advent of the D-League. Only now can teams really develop player's outside of the team, once this system is in place Riley can freely step down and be proud of what he's created here in Miami.

I am with you here. Riley has soften his stance since Spo earned his stripes and is now a 4 time Finals/2x champion coach. Spo likes youth and flexibility and that is what he demands and gets. His handpicked coaches are developing the kids. Kudos to the scouting team also for finding these gems for Spo and more kudos to Pat Riley for not being stubborn anymore and adapting to change.
