I would love to have Noah back home in NY. Hiring Thibs as coach would enhance the chances of the Knicks landing him for maybe a discounted amount.

On the bright side, Melo and KP got through the season relatively healthy.

Yeah, that would be an ideal situation. We also wouldn't have to rush Hernangomez into the rotation if he isn't quite ready to play yet. The Knicks don't have anyone that plays as intense as Noah. Man, just picturing him grab a rebound and yelling in a Knicks uniform is sweet.

Westbrook
Bazemore
Melo
KP
Rolo

Bench: LT, Gallo, Grant, KOQ, D-Will (resigned with early bird rights in 2017), Willy, 2017 pick

Umm

-Jennings is not getting just a one year deal
-D-Will is not opting back in.
-WB is not coming here.

I could see a scenario where the Knicks hire Thibs and then trade KOQ for either an early 2nd or late 1st to sign Noah to be a backup for like 8-10 mill for 1 year and then sign a guy like Bazemore for 14-16 mill long-term.

A line-up of
Grant
Bazemore
Melo
KP
Rolo

With the main bench pieces of
Noah
Dwill
Gallo
LT

That's a very Thibs-esque defense first squad with an attacking guard and wing scorer in Melo.

Yup, we will pick up back end talent. Then then Rambis will hold us back. Kp and Melo are too good but not good enough to overcome dumb Rambis and we end up at the 15th pick. Ahhh FML

Love that lineup, but they have to find another PG somehow, someway.

Same *** Fisher was saying. Practice time blah blah. But yet we looked better in the triangle Preseason and early on. Defenses simple adjusted to our soft/slow cuts and execution. Lack of guard penetration and finishing ability killed us. Give me a break. Real guards are a must in free agency. We almost HAVE TO land 1 top guard for me to even fathom dealing with Rambis and the Triangle again.

Why isn't Jennings getting a 1 year deal? What has he done this season to deserve a multi-year contract? You convince him to take this 1 year deal to get his stock up next season and cash out in 2017 FA...exactly what the Kings just did with Rondo this year. We can offer him a starting spot and a ton of minutes, hardly any other team can.

How do u know that D-Will won't opt back in? The cap is estimated to increase to over 108 mil next offseason. D-Will can opt in and then make more money next summer than he would this summer if he continues to play well.

If KD leaves this summer, then I believe that WB will as well. Where else would he go? The Lakers? I do believe that we'd be near the top of his list if we're competitive next season. WB is the type of dude who would love the Garden stage. NYC could be his. He's already a big fan of KP. The triangle is starving for a player like him. He fits in perfectly.

Bazemore is a average player who isn't going to move the needle much for this team. Hawks will most likely let him go like they did with Caroll and not miss a beat. no more c level players

I just don't think finding a long term point guard this summer makes much sense unless Phil can make some sort of heist of a deal involving KOQ and subsequently not giving up a 1st in the process. I can understand signing one of Jennings or Lawson to a 1 year deal but, then you more than likely don't end up with Noah in that scenario. A healthy Noah is probably more impactful than either of those 2 anyway... I don't think there's any chance AA stays so there's going to be a massive hole at 2 guard and the only feasible way to get a decent one is to sign one. I'd rather take the chance that Grant develops in year 2 than go into the year with Jennings and either Galloway or Vujacic as our starting 2 guard. Maybe a Jennings/Grant backcourt can work? But, I don't know how Jerian will react to playing off the ball and guarding 2's...

Hawks are worse this year than last year... There were some other factors but, losing Carroll was big. He's not worth that contract but, he's only slightly overpaid when he's healthy. Raptors defense is much better when he's on the floor.

Yeah I agree. I'm not a big fan of Jennings. I'd rather go into next season with Grant/Wroten and a second round rookie PG like Melo Trimble and go from there.

It doesn't matter what system we run. If we don't get KD we won't be title contenders next year regardless.

Return to New York Knicks
