So who's going to take the "Bobcats" over on that Mock Offseason thread on the GB if the whole thing actually gets off the ground?

Leicester City winning the Premier League might be the best underdog sports story I can ever remember, better than NC State winning the 83 NCAA title, better than the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team.

(edit: I hope I didnt just jinx them)

As an avid Esports fan I've got this one!

Esports refers to a collection of competitive gaming that takes place on a professional level. Right now there are 3 games in particular that have incredibly large followings, those being DOTA 2, League of Legends, and Counter Strike Global Offensive.

The professionals who play these games are **** inhuman at them too. I play CSGO and just can't imagine being as good as the pros are- they are literally good enough to beat players who are aimbotting and wallhacking.

As a Tottenham fan I would love to see the Spurs pull off a title win- but by the same token we should challenge again next year provided that our young players continue to progress. I really think that Leicester City(or even the Spurs) winning the prem would be good for the BPL. Also just a fun fact: at the start of the season Leicester was given a 0.02% to win the prem by odds makers!

Ah, OK, yes, I've seen the DOTA and LoL stuff before. I don't play any of those PC games, but I can only imagine how good those guys are that make a career out of playing those games.

Agreed about Leicester and Spurs. I would have been pulling for Spurs vs any of the other big teams. I agree, its a good look for the league to finally have more parity with teams like LC, Tottenham, West Ham playing well, and teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U just fighting to finish top 10, and I say that obviously as a Chelsea fan. Makes the league so much more interesting. I wish other leagues were more competitive, top to bottom, as well.

BTW, how you feeling these days?

Feeling well enough I suppose, I have my good days and bad days. Getting ready to move down to Fayetteville, getting a free house which is a nice change of pace from the bad luck of late.

Today WFNZ announced that Colin Hoggard is leaving the show The Callup. That is a real shame. Colin was probably my favorite of all the WFNZ hosts.

Not sure if you have noticed, but apparently all embedded links (tweets, youtube etc...) posted prior to some kind of recent update they made a few days ago are now broken. Seems like they are trying to fix it, we'll see.

Links can be restored by editing the post (dont have to actually edit anything) and saving. But only mods and person who posted can made edits, so...

I'm sure as hell not going to go back and clean up years of broken links. I hope it gets fixed soon or else threads like "What are you listening to?" are ruined.

Looks like posts made after change are good to go.

I couldn't see your nacho pic the other day for some reason.

That made me sad.

Kind of an interesting place to put this, but does anyone have any advise on how to deal with being in debt (and not being able to pay it off). Hospital bills are hitting hard and I have no parental support and cannot work. The debt collectors are starting to raid my 401k's and Im afraid that soon they'll be after my car. What do I do?

How are the debt collector's raiding your 401k? They shouldn't be able too. Don't withdraw the money from your 401k willingly to pay them.
Protected in Bankruptcy
Your 401(k) is safe, even if you’re forced to declare bankruptcy. As long as the funds remain in the account prior to filing, they’re considered protected assets, and most creditors can’t touch them. Funds in your 401(k) can be taken only under certain circumstances. If you get divorced, for example, your ex may be granted money from the account. The IRS also can seize assets from the plan to settle federal income tax debts or as the result of other crimes and penalties levied by the government.

Putting on Pressure
Creditors can’t garnish your 401(k), but that doesn’t mean they won’t try to get those funds anyway. If you owe a creditor money and it’s long past due, you might be pressured by debt collectors to siphon money out of your 401(k) to pay that off. Doing so benefits the creditor, which gets money it might otherwise have to write off, but it probably doesn’t help you.

Where are you? Here in Asheville there is a non-profit called Pisgah Legal Services who provides pro bono (free) legal help. Look for a service like that near you. Bankruptcy has a 7 year tail which can make getting loans a challenge going forward, but will allow you to restructure or zero out current debts.
(if you don't know of a pro bono legal service near you call Pisgah Legal and ask for a referral near you (800) 489-6144
Good luck hate you're going through this!

I just want to say that all of this sounds awful and I feel for you when reading what you're going through. Keep in there, penquin!

I'd certainly be wary of taking legal advice from people on the internet, especially given that we don't know all the facts of your situation. We don't know any of the details of your Plan. Snidely's Pisgah Legal Services suggestion was very good and I would definitely try to contact them if you live in the area. You could also try Legal Aid of North Carolina. http://www.legalaidnc.org/Pages/Homepage.aspx - I would call them - 1-866-219-5262

You need to talk to a lawyer. Somebody will help you. Look into law schools they often do a lot of pro bono work and clinics. I'll keep an ear open. There are lawyers who work with this kind of stuff every day at Legal Aid.

Talk to BrotherDave. He's like some kind of disc golf superstar or something.

I play every now and then with my nephews here in Charlotte. I keep a couple of discs in my trunk. I'm not very good though.

this is where we usually play. Its nothing but woods, so half your score is luck.
I played this one last year as well

I'm gonna try to play this one next. Its close to where I live.

do you guys ever go back and read old threads from 08? That's as far back as they are easily accessible as far as I know. There's some really great stuff. Turns out we did have a Marvin thread already

viewtopic.php?f=53&t=773415

I was also getting a kick at some of the old Fire Sam Vincent threads

In the Richardson/Diaw trade thread (which is one of the most depressing threads of all time), Big Slam suggests why didn't we go for that Dragic kid instead of Singletary.

Some posters claimed "'Lill" Sean as the next coming.

Between guys like Singletary, Burleson and Collins we've had some absolute stinkers when it's come to PG prospects.
