Simply put, SVG gets it. I am so damn proud our coach is (I believe) the first to stand up and say this.

I'd rather not bring in any politics in his forum. You can talk about LGBT or Islam or whatever. I come here to talk about the Pistons and nothing more. I won't be visiting this thread after this post. I don't really care who said it whether it was SVG or a player. I'm here for Sports talk. I'm out

Good for SVG.
This really interests me on a business subject. Do you think this law will impact NBA attendance at Charlotte Hornet games? If other NBA cities follow in NC's footsteps, will those locations be impacted as well?
This is bigger than sports, but it still impacts fan attendance and possibly endorsement deals as well.

I'm proud SVG is our coach and team president. He spoke intelligently and forcefully on the issue, and it will be interesting to see if other NBA leaders follow suit.

I don't think so. From what I've heard, Charlotte's council and the city itself is wholly against the bill and the discrimination aspect of it. They voted against it I believe, so really, Charlotte is getting the shaft for the potential business fallout from this when it was the silly state's decision.

“I understand, logistically, it would be a major problem (to move the game), but so what? Sometimes standing up for things that are right makes things tougher.”
i'll start by saying that i haven't read much on the subject so if i get any facts wrong you'll have to forgive me.
when i first read the news of the state rejecting the bill i understood perfectly why they would do it. after all, how does it make sense that any guy could walk into the women's bathroom and vice versa (i believe the bill essentially said anybody could use whatever bathroom they want).
the link i read didn't have the part in brackets where that quote was specific to the game and thought SVG brought up an interesting point on the whole equality situation. if the fundamental thing we're going for as a society is equality then that's what we should put first and people would have to deal with the "consequences". things like this bill are restricting freedom (depending on how you look at that) because of what the consequences would be if it were passed, which is backwards from an idealistic point of view.
anyways... back to basketball for me!

Restricting the freedom of those few who chose not to live with what they were born with. It invades the privacy of millions of women (or men) though, but that's not important I guess. The main idea is to make sure that transgenders can do whatever they please, and real women and children will be creeped the **** out when they see a man with a beard walking into their bathrooms because the law said they could

Van Gundy should stick to basketball and nothing else!
Anyways, hope this topic gets locked and get we get back basketball talk.

It's basketball related, if you don't want to discuss it, don't post in the thread.
