a Bucks win and Denver loss.

So we are picking 10th :(

With a Denver loss to Portland and a Milwaukee win against Indy - we are guaranteed at least the 9th pick.

With a Denver loss to Portland, Milwaukee loss against Indy, SAC loss to Rockets, there will be a 3 way tie for 8.9.10 and coin tosses will determine the selections. ( CURRENT SITUATION)

With a Denver loss to Portland, Milwaukee win against Indy, SAC loss to Rockets, there will be a two way tie for 8th and 9th between Denver and Sac. - Could happen but Bucks are awful.

If Denver wins against Portland and Milwaukee loses vs Indiana, we will get the 10th pick

If Denver wins against Portland and Milwaukee wins vs Indiana, there will be a two way tie for 10 and 9.

Why do you say that? It seems likely the above will happen.

Bucks are playing at home against Indiana, who are locked into their playoff spot. With indy resting and milwaukee wanting to please their fans, they should win.

Denver is playing @ portland who needs a win or else risks falling down to 6th or 7th.

So if both happen, Denver finishes 8th and New York 7th, which would be blessed. Too bad the pelicans couldnt get their **** together.

Not 8 for sure; Sac will lose to Rockets who are trying to clinch the 8th seed. There will be a two way tie for 8 and 9 and coin toss will determine positions.

Also, it's not guaranteed that Portland will beat Denver. I'm sure Portland staff will be watching the early San Antonio vs. Dallas game to see if starters need to be rested. If San Antonio beats Dallas or looks like they'll beat Dallas, I wouldn't be surprised if Portland rests their starters. Denver would then have a GREAT chance at beating Portland.

That should give us Hield or Murray and make this lotto pick MUCH more special. Then we can take some fliers in the second round like Chinanu Onuaku and Wayne Selden who can be stashed for a year. Ross could slide in as a replacement for departing Eric Gordon.

So you feel trading Ross and either the 8th or 9th pick in a weak draft to move up 2 or 3 spots for either Hield or Murray
is a good move.
Both Hield and Murray are currently not capable of playing defence at the NBA level, Norman Powell seems to have
a higher potential then either of the above.
You would cause the Raptors to play less competitive ball for 1 or 2 seasons while Hield or Murray develop their NBA
skills.
Casey has shown and expressed his desire to have players who can play superior defence and has stated that the
Raptors do not have any problem scoring points but need players that can prevent the other team from scoring.
How much impact will these 2 have when 60% plus of the Raptors offence is run thru either Kyle or Demar.
So even if the other team is willing to make this trade I feel it will only make sense for the Raptors if they are
not planning on resigning Demar Derozan.

I just don't feel like any of the teams above us are motivated to trade down their pick and a guy like TRoss won't push the needle on that. Even both our first rounders don't get us a top 7 pick IMO

Yeah - I'm surprised at how many people are keen on trading up to draft a backcourt player (I know about BPA, blah, blah, blah and, of course, I would take Murray or Dunn if they drop). But our backcourt seems set for the next while with Kyle, Demar, Powell, Joseph and Wright. If we're trading up with our pick and Ross, I want to be getting Brown or Bender, otherwise I'm fine with what we've got in the backcourt.

I would rather keep 10 and 25 over 7. Unless masai REALLY wants someone I doubt he trades down.

Is it too late to draft Robert Bobroczky? He has the length....

Is Indiana resting PG tonight, if so maybe Milwaukee will have a chance... If pick wasn't given to Chicago, I wish Sacramento could still finish 11th so Karl could go out with a big "FU" to Vivek/Vlade... Either way, go Kings, play Spoilers tonight against Rockets (Deep down Morey want to lose anyway so he gets to keep his pick from Denver)... & Denver... Don't even think about it tonight...

Exactly, I think we've had enough of picks like Rafael Araújo over Andre Iguodala, Terrence Ross over Andre Drummond and Delon Wright over Bobby Portis. We took Araújo over Iguodala because we had Carter and Peterson and needed a centre. We took Ross over Drummond because we already had Val, our centre of the future, and we took Wright over Portis because the offseason plan had us short a man at backup point guard... until we lost out on Wes Matthews and signed Corey Joseph instead.

The key is, you never know what will happen, DeMar could decide he wants to play in LA, some team could throw a max contract at Lowry in 2017, or either of them could suffer a career altering injury that completely transforms what team needs are. Smart teams take BPA and figure the rest out later.

I'm happy this thread isn't collectively making the pick

Skal, Sabonis, Thon Maker at 9? Come on. Those guys are mid to late first talents. Let's aim a little higher.

Return to Toronto Raptors
