Game 82: Rockets, Kings...playoffs?

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Wed Apr 13, 2016 10:37 pm

I just don't know what happened to this season.

Rockets need a win to make the playoffs as the 8 seed. The Kings are doing their part by resting a lot of players, but that does not equal an automatic win for this team.

Finish out the regular season with some pride!

Go Rockets!

Kings firing George Karl tomorrow. If I were him I'd play Cousins and the other starters all 48 minutes.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

If James gets 40 he will join LeBron MJ and the big O as the only players to average 29-6-7

He will also have the most 40 point games by a rocket in a season I think

I think this team made a mistake ditching Terrence Jones. He was an X factor type player that made the team unique and I feel it's part of the problem this team has had.

I think they should've thrown him in every once in awhile when things were going poorly but on a short leash. When he's been bad he's been BAD but every once in awhile he would play well. But with Smith playing better, Dmo rounding into shape (still can't hit a 3), and Beas there no room for him

McLemore makes everything, don't know why he can't get any PT for Karl outside of this

When you step back and really look at what was different this season, it was Jones getting buried and Motiejunas being injured. Also Mchale fired.

Hopefully JBB can keep Ariza on the bench. This game is over so let him rest.

Booo Booo

I don' t want to watch this team anymore.

We're losing our only first round pick, we're letting Dwight walk, and we lost 15 more games than last year.

I have to disagree with you, my friend. If Dwight walks from this team and assuming that this team will be worse next year, what are our chances that we'll have another shot at the playoffs?

Also, the way I see it is that it's a win or bust type of situation come playoffs. There's no consolation for advancing far in the playoffs only to lose in the WCF or finals.

I have no doubt that the Rockets front office would rather have this team make the playoffs rather than missing it entirely even at the expanse of a stupid draft pick. Plus, we can't recruit any good player from this upcoming FA if we miss the playoffs. No one wants to join a losing team these days. That perception changes slightly when you are in the playoffs.

Man I wish they left him in for 40 but congrats James! Glad JBB let him get it

This is wild. We waited the whole season for this team to get consistent and it never happened and we somehow make the playoffs.

I blame myself as a fan for missing games, had to focus on career this year and I think I took some good luck with me. :(

On a serious note though, I think our obvious issue was messing with the chemistry we had last year and thinking we had arrived as a team despite not winning a title yet.

Guys wanting big contracts they weren't going to get and making changes in the beginning of the season set a bad tone imo. I also don't know the player success rate post Kardashian either.

Anyhow, I'm happy we at least made the playoffs with a win at home. Rockets fan for twenty years and even being .500 we haven't had a losing record in years. Happy we also have a special player in Harden putting himself in rare company tonight. Go Rockets!
