Hope you're right about Oubre. No one else on the bench is actually signed for next year, right? Yes, Sessions has been reliable, not sure that's how I'd characterize Nene. But, sure, would be nice to have him back on the right contract.

Please be sure to vote in the poll. :D

One interesting thing about the post game on CSN, they were pretty open about Randy likely being gone and Ernie perhaps being gone.

A few things

1) Yes we all know you work for Ernie.
2) I'm sure he pays well, get a better phone.
3) Crappy phone but good choice on the filter for your sextape. Most people go with grainy green but you're an innovator.
4) Does Ernie always look this disinterested before your sessions?
4.1) Do you make Ramon Sessions jokes about your sessions?
5) Does that bother you?
6) Was this taken as he was telling you that Randy wouldn't be joining?
7) Does Randy usually find the right hole or does he flip you around constantly trying to figure out which is the right end?
8) Is "Dagger" your safety word?

Wow, still can't believe that Atlanta didn't bring more fire to this game given what it meant to them... still shocking to me.

I think the backup backcourt and an inspired Nene made the difference in the last game.

It's not like the Wizards played worse without Beal and for the last 5 without Wall.

I think the Wall/Beal combo is the wrong combo. Kind of feel like they shouldn't be paired. I would rather have seen a Wall/Harden duo - I think that would take the pressure off of wall in the halfcourt. Or a CP3/Beal getting set-up for corner 3s.

I don't know - this team just wasn't well constructed.

I disagree here. In theory, the Wall/Beal combo should have really good synergy. Wall is a ball-dominant PG who likes to pass. Beal is an off-the-ball catch-and-shoot player who can make a play off the bounce against a closing defender. Sounds perfect to me.

The issue isn't that their skills aren't complementary. The issue is that neither player is really as good as advertised. Wall shoots too much at a poor percentage and turns the ball over too much. Beal is just a mediocre shooter who doesn't get to the line (and played horrible defense this year).

I think some of these issues can be addressed with better coaching, unless of course Wall and Beal are refusing to listen to their coach.

Preach!

If you want to fully expose the weaknesses of each player, in one word pride comes to mind. I think both believe themselves to be elite already. The shots Wall takes are mind-boggling at times. He's more concerned IMO with offense than defense. His mindset is to play faster or more aggressively when at times his teammates need to be more involved (like Gortat in pick-and-roll). He's not a particularly mindful player. Pride or lack of awareness seem to be causal.

Beal needs to be much better at the line and better off the dribble. He needs to be more durable. I get the feeling he's not a very smart worker. I think he works on a few things but not on his total game. I believe he thinks he's a superstar in the making.

Neither Wall nor Beal are as good as advertised.
