1. Go and watch the Friday Night Lights movie immediately.

2. You flip 3 coins, until you have an odd one out. The odd one out gets the 8th pick. It is then a coin toss between 2.

Amazing assets management. One of the top NBA teams and two first round draft picks this year (one lottery) and two next year as well.

Damn Masai, well done

Raptors have a 1% chance of getting a top 3 pick in the draft.

I mean last time we had to go to a coin toss, we all know what happened... However, this season it's different. This season Raptors are a force in the league. We have the 4th best record in the league. We got really lucky with our rookies this year. We got the best opponent for the playoffs possible. This is just a really good year for us, so I believe that the coin toss gods will be with us.

We can't get the #1 pic, Denver exercises their option to switch after the lotto is done.

Still though, imagine drafting Ingram?

Oh mama, hold me.

Do we know if the coin toss is supervised by a third party? The 8 to 10 slots can matter quite a bit.

Why is everyone assuming that there'll be a coin toss on tie breakers ?

http://stats.nba.com/playoffpicture

TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR TWO-WAY TIES:

(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(2) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(3) Division won-lost percentage for teams in the same division
(4) Conference won-lost percentage
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(6) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(7) Net Points, all games

TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR MULTI-WAY TIES:

(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Division won-lost percentage for teams in the same division
(4) Conference won-lost percentage
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(6) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(7) Net Points, all games

but this is the likely outcome :D

That's for playoff seeding, not draft order.

Yes, it is supervised by the same auditing firm that will handle the lottery. If the three-way tie breaking procedure is the same as in 2014 when there last was a three way tie, they first draw a winner from the three, then do it over again between the remaining two.

In preparation for this 8-10 situation, here's the 8-10 picks since 1990. I pulled them from basketballreference.com. Keep in mind that in those drafts where there appears to be a major shortage of talent in that range, there is often a much better player picked 11th.

90 - 8. Bo Kimble
9. Willie Burton
10. Rumeal Robinson
91 - 8. Mark Macon
9. Stacey Augmon
10. Bison Dele
92 - 8. Toddy Day
9. Clarence Weatherspoon
10. Adam Keefe
93 - 8. Vin Baker
9. Rodney Rogers
10. Lindsey Hunter
94 – 8. Brian Grant
9. Eric Montross
10. Eddie Jones
95 – 8. Shawn Respert
9. Ed O’Bannon
10. Kurt Thomas
96 - 8. Kerry Kittles
9. Samaki Walker
10. Erick Dampier
97 - 8. Adonal Foyle
9. Tracy McGrady
10. Danny Fortson
98. 8. Larry Hughes
9. Dirk Nowitzki
10. Paul Pierce
99 - 8. Andre Miller
9. Shawn Marion
10. Jason Terry
00 – 8. Jamal Crawford
9. Joel Pryzbilla
10. Keyon Dooling
01 – 8. Desagna Diop
9. Rodney White
10. Joe Johnson
02 - 8. Chris Wilcox
9. Amar’e Stoudamire
10. Caron Butler
03 – 8. T.J. Ford
9. Mike Sweetney
10. Jarvis Hayes
04 – 8. Rafael Araujo
9. Andre Iguodala
10. Luke Jackson
05 – 8. Channing Frye
9. Ike Diogu
10. Andrew Bynum
06 – 8. Rudy Gay
9. Patrick O’Bryant
10. Mouhamed Sene
07 - 8. Brandan Wright
9. Joakim Noah
10. Spencer Hawes
08 - 8. Joe Alexander
9. D.J. Augustin
10. Brook Lopez
09 – 8. Jordan Hill
9. DeMar DeRozan
10. Brandon Jennings
10 - 8. Al-Farouq Aminu
9. Gordon Hayword
10. Paul George
11 – 8. Brandon Knight
9. Kemba Walker
10. Jimmer Fredette
12 - 8. Terrence Ross

I really like Murray & Jackson.......Heild as well, but man........with the development of Powell & Wright it is really difficult to find minutes for this many small guards. I think Cojo would definitely have to be dealt. You could deal Ross, but the guy is 6'7" & can play some SF for you......plus his shot is money.

I think the best possible situation for us (other than winning the lottery) is for Jaylen Brown to fall. We definitely need a legit SF prospect.....probably more than a PF.

Gonna be an interesting draft. One of these picks will be dealt for sure. Possibly 2 of them. There just isn't enough roster spots. It's a good problem to have & I don't think it's a problem the Raptors have ever had before.
