Leuer is the better player imo. More versatile, more athletic, younger. The only thing Tele does better is shoot, and while he's a monster at what he does, he's a piece for a contender. We're nowhere close to that. I'd re-sign him for the right price, but that would be with the aim of moving him later on. Leuer, on the other hand, can be our backup 4 and emergency 5, and I think he's less likely to get in the way of our youngsters getting PT (and we will/better have at least one young PF with our 4 draft picks this year).

6 seasons out of the playoffs, 1 lone winning season, start of another rebuild (?), I definitely think we're on the cusp of peak irrelevance.

Start of another rebuild? We started when we traded Steve Nash.

I agree with rsavaj. We've been on the treadmill ever since we cut Yuta Tabuse, tried to hit the reset button multiple times only to persist with the dead end strategy of conbuilding

there was a japanese fan on the espn boards who said the Suns would never win a championship after they cut Yuta

I laughed then, but now...I feel like he was from the future or something

A few questions.

1. Would you guys want to trade for Butler?
2. If so, what role would he take on this team? Is he a SF?
3. What kind of package do you think would be realistic?

I'd think if Chicago was trading him, it's because they've decided to rebuild.

I wonder if our #1 & Wizards pick, Bogdon, and Tucker would do it.
This, of course, is assuming we don't land a top 2 pick.

Day 1 of the Suns offseason begins... we have almost 200 days before the start of the 2016-17 season.
Luckily we still have NBA playoffs, draft lottery, draft, and Summer Olympics to look forward to, followed by training camp and then pre-season.
200 days though, for Booker to improve, for Len to improve, for Warren to improve. Please for the love of God can someone (or two) emerge as an all-star for us.

If we don't land a top 2 pick yes I would want to trade for Butler.
Our pick, Wiz pick, Bogdan is a good start point. We'd have to make salaries match though and Tucker isn't moving the needle. We'd probably have to include Warren, and most likely Knight (for salary purposes). Possibly Len too, however him going into a contract year they might rather just have future picks (Miami and probably a protected 2018 1st from us).

#1 pick or Booker +13 and Len might do it if they really want to trade him.

You forgot about the Summer league. For the past few years that's when we've seen our best Suns basketball.

Oh shoot, I thought I added that! Do you think Book will even play in summer league? I doubt Len will play just because he's been in the league for 3 years now.

No, probably for us just Ingram and Chriss/Davis and perhaps if we take someone else with the Cleveland or our 2nd round pick. Maybe Warren if healthy. Book might want to play though. Develop some chemistry with those guys.

I wonder who's gonna play for the US Olympic team. Will Len play for his national team? At least this offseason won't be so boring.

Butler at SF is a huge upgrade. He has defense on PJ's level, and 10x the offense. He has offense on Warrens' level and 100x the defense.

I would love to get Butler.

I have seen enough...I want this guy traded ASAP.

We have to play the game the right way, Knight doesn't understand the game and can't be an starter on a serious team. We want to build a team around Booker so he needs to go.

The last thing that we want/need is to begin training camp with another disgruntled player....come on McDonough, show us that you have learned this lesson already.

1.Yes, of course.
2. Our one and only star player. SG, SF or even PF. I don't care. :)
3. Knight, #4, #28 , Bogdanovic's rights and Tucker.

I would be open to change #28 for #13 if that is a must, but I would like to retain #13 because I trust McDonough picking in that range.

I think is a fair offer, but probably the Bulls want more because Butler is a tremendous player on a great and long contract.
