NYM Orlando Hernandez, RHP (3-3, 2.77)
Mets (43-33) @ PHI J.D. Durbin, RHP (0-0, 94.50)
Phillies (41-37)
Scouting Report:
Mets: Hernandez was solid on Saturday against Oakland, tossing seven scoreless innings on six hits, but his offense also struggled to put runs on the board. The right-hander struck out seven on the night and walked just one to record the no-decision. He threw a season-high 119 pitches, but with rain postponing Thursday's game -- which Hernandez was scheduled to start -- the veteran received an extra day of rest to recover from the extended outing. El Duque will look to deliver his first win since the end of May. He beat the Cards the only time he's faced them, garnering a 1.29 ERA in seven innings pitched.
Phillies: Durbin will make his Phillies debut in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Mets. The 25-year-old went 2-4 with a 4.55 ERA in 10 starts this season with Triple-A Ottawa. A former second-round pick (2000), Durbin was claimed off waivers in April.

NYM John Maine, RHP (8-4, 2.87)
Mets (43-33) @ PHI Cole Hamels, LHP (9-3, 3.80)
Phillies (41-37)
Scouting Report:
Mets: Maine extended his current winning streak to two on Sunday, leading the Mets to a 10-2 win against Oakland in what manager Willie Randolph called a mature performance. The right-hander struck out six over his seven innings, allowing two earned runs off five hits, one of them a solo home run to A's right fielder Jack Cust in the fifth. Maine also recorded his first career Major League RBI with a sacrifice fly to center field in the second inning.
Phillies: Hamels is taking his third stab at his 10th win. His previous outing lasted three innings, with Hamels not returning after a 90-minute rain delay. He's faced the Mets two other times this season, with two no-decisions and a 3.56 ERA in those starts.

NYM Jorge Sosa, RHP (6-3, 3.79)
Mets (43-33) @ PHI J.A. Happ, LHP (0-0, -.--)
Phillies (41-37)
Scouting Report:
Mets: After two consecutive subpar starts earlier in the month, Sosa limited the Cardinals to just one run off six hits over six innings on Monday night. The right-hander struck out five on the night and walked two in receiving a no-decision. Sosa will look to continue his solid season on Friday in the second of two against the Phillies. He's 2-1 with a 3.03 ERA in nine career outings, including three starts, against them.
Phillies: Happ is scheduled to make his first Major League start. The 24-year-old is 1-2 with a 4.02 ERA after 13 starts with Triple-A Ottawa. The 6-foot-6 left-hander pitched five innings Sunday for the Lynx and allowed three runs on eight hits.

NYM Oliver Perez, LHP (7-6, 3.14)
Mets (43-33) @ PHI Kyle Kendrick, RHP (2-0, 5.00)
Phillies (41-37)
Scouting Report:
Mets: Perez recorded a no-decision on Tuesday against the Cardinals, giving up two runs off of five hits. Perez held his own until the seventh inning, when he was pulled after giving up his second earned run. He'll look for his second win in June on Saturday against the Phillies, who he lost to earlier this season.
Phillies: Kendrick won his second consecutive start his last time out, against the Reds on June 26. He allowed four runs over six innings, but got plenty of run support in the 11-4 win. The Phillies have piled up a combined 28 runs in Kendrick's three starts since being called up from Double-A Reading. He has lasted six innings each outing, all Phillies wins. Manager Charlie Manuel said after Kendrick's win against the Reds that the young pitcher was in position to earn a permanent spot in the rotation.
Good luck charms.
