Get two decent PF prospects added to the pipeline, keep Ross as the SF backup, SG insurance if DD bolts. And we would be set for another great regular season.

Hopefully with a season of seasoning, one of the two PFs stands out enough that they could be our starter the following season, so we wouldn't have to pay the big bux to keep 2Pat.

I agree with you about Brice Johnson. He's the guy I want with our pick as well.

We still have to find roster spots for these guys. I could see Masai consolidating some picks to move up this year or next year.

To open up 2 possible roster spots get rid of DeAndre Daniels and buy out Bruno Caboclo, the only thing Bruno brings
to the table is physical tools everything else is lacking.

Daniels isn't signed.

It's way more liekly we get rid our our own pick than buying out Bruno.

Damn just read OG Anunoby won't declare....

Too bad, the talk of his elite defence and insane wingspan had me intrigued.

James Johnson and Jason Thompson are not coming back. Scola and Biyombo might not be coming back. We will have at least two roster spots open and possibly as many as four.

It's really not the problem some on this board have made it out to be.

Right, teams could jump over us. Forgot that element. So in that case, 10 somewhat possible but unlikely, and 11 and 12 pretty close to impossible - though again theoretically possible. Don't think there's anyway we can get to 8 though - but you likely meant 7?

So:

Extremely unlikely - 2,3,11,12

Longshot but somewhat possible - 7, 10

Very likely - 9

Does that breakdown have it? I assume someone will be along with the exact percentages at some point - but in a nutshell I think that's close to right?

We can get 8th if the Denver pick moves into the 3, thus pushing the New York pick down from 7th to 8th.

IF Denver moves up, you guys don't move up from 9 because that'll just push another team ahead of you down so only possibilities are #2 or 3 (if both DEN and NYK move up via the lottery, very improbable ) 9 where it is now, and possibly 10th or 11th if 1 or 2 teams from beyond the 9th pick move up.

If Denver moves into the top 3 and New York does not, we get New York's pick. Since Denver moved ahead of New York, that pick moves from 7th to 8th, which is then conferred to Toronto. (this assumes that no other team behind the New York pick also jumps into the top 3)

If JT, Scola & Biyombo don't come back & we don't replace them with capable veterans we will be in big trouble. Say goodbye to our 50+ win season & say goodbye to making it past the 1st round.

We would inherit NY pick which is currently 7th........bumping it to 8th.

9th pick for Bargnani is highway robbery no matter how you slice it. That's gotta be one of the best deals in this team's history.

Assuming everything holds to form (draft positions, mock drafts etc), the only guy I'm interested in at that range is Luwawu. Murray Poeltl and Hield will all be gone by then, none of the other prospects are interesting and Skal reminds me a bit too much of PJ3.

My first course of action would be to bring in a star with that pick or if we use it for ourselves, take Luwawu

Our 9th picks: Mcgrady, Derozan.

We're good here thanks.

9th seems to be that spot where players fall in the draft & someone scoops them up.

I think we can say goodbye to Scola right now and it won't affect us in the least in the playoffs. JT just seems like a more mobile defender and can also shoot the 3.

JJ is as good as gone.

JT we should try to bring back if we don't draft two PFs. But if we do, Scola and JT's spots can go to these two new PFs. Both backing up 2Pat.

Losing Biyombo would, by some metrics, hurt more than losing DD. Plus Powell is closer to DD than BeBe is to Biyombo.

DX is updated.

They now have 9-14 as

Ellenson
Skal
Jackson
Luwawu
Davis
Rabb

LOL

I think DX has these 6 completely backwards. No way in hell would I take Jackson, Skal or Ellenson over Rabb, Davis or Luwawu.

Agreed. Johnson will not be back. And if a second roster spot is needed, one of Thompson and Scola won't be back, either. I don't see a problem.

There's 0.00000001% Caboclo is cut. The only way he's off the roster is via trade.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

JT is a LLE player at this point and can be replaced/retained easily.

Scola is very replaceable. Healthy Carroll + PPat could soak up him minutes.

So really, it's just Biyombo.

I wonder if Murray would accept a promise to be drafted by Toronto at 9 and skip all other work outs. He gets to be the best Canadian to play for the only Canadian team, he could be the future face of the franchise and the raptors as a franchise are peaking. He'd miss out on maybe a million over this rookie contact but it could work out for him in the long run. Wishful thinking.

Return to Toronto Raptors
