Rams burn draft value chart, trade the house for #1

Post#1 » by Devilzsidewalk » Thu Apr 14, 2016 7:01 pm

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/04/14/los-angeles-rams-tennessee-titans-trade/83022838/

In exchange for the top pick, the Titans receive the Rams’ original first-round pick at 15th overall, two second-rounders (43rd and 45th overall) and a third-round selection (76th). The Titans will also get the Rams’ first- and third-round selections in next year’s draft.

Wentz better be as good as they hope, or the (re)start to the LA Rams might get ugly in a hurry.

Rams got some draft picks back and I believe that second third round selection is in 2018. I don't think it's that much of a haul for getting the top pick in the draft and your choice of QB if you're really sold on a guy.

It's going to be hard to build a solid roster around a young QB when you trade away all your draft picks. If Wentz or Goff don't pan out, this could be disastrous for LA. This was a solid trade for the Titans.

Great move by the Titans. Trading back & getting as many picks as possible is always the way to go. The Jimmy Johnson Cowboys' are the best example. The best teams use this same philosophy (Patriots, Packers, Seahawks, etc.)

Great move by Titans. They can actually move back up from #15 with all the extra picks they acquired.

This aint no regular draft! This is a gigantic splash in a mega market! It was necessary! It is a must! This is LA! This is Hollywood! Getting the #1 pick is a giant win for LA. It sends a clear message. The wait and see if its successful pick stuff comes later. Right now as it stands at the entrance door of a innaugural season, it is a win!

I understand the logic, but i don't agree with it because I don't see any of the QBs in the draft to being the next Manning, or Palmer, or Newton or Rodgers, but i do think its possible to see 5-6 guys in this draft to on the same level as a Dalton, Eli, Ryan, Rivers, Flaco.

Its highly possible that they could have gotten Wentz at 15. or Lynch or Cook could be pro bowl QBs themselves later on.

Its not like this is the Andrew Luck draft a few years ago, where their was super hype around Luck being a future HOFer

Only true, if the player they choose is a "Homerun" pick. Good teams don't make these type of moves typically. Goff/Wentz, whoever they pick, has to be a difference maker for them. Otherwise, it could be a colossal mistake. Do you want a splash? Or do you want a consistent winner?

Rams gave up way too much for a future bust. I don't like any of the QB's in this year's draft. 2 best players in this year's draft, Deforest Buckner and Myles jack.

It has been common knowledge that the Browns at #2 were planning to draft Wentz, and the 49ers and eagles were also interested in the top 2 QBs

Responses in this thread are incred. Wentz at 15? I have forgotten more football knowledge, than many here on realgm have obtained throughout their lifetime. We havewhat we need. The running back and the Line. We will now take the 1st pick and develop him. It is truly a win/win for Hollywood!

Now theres reports that the pick could be Goff. Basically whoever the Browns were coveting, is who the Rams are going after. I could see Goff going #1, but I know the Browns love Wentz, and physical attributes. Lots of smoke screens going on

If he's talking about the Defensive line, than yeah. Aaron Donald and Robert Quinn are monsters. The Offensive line...not so good. And Gurley, is also a beast. Tavon Austin good player. The rest of the team is suspect.

No reason to think the Browns are going quarterback at this point.
