Yeah because "if you wait to long someone might come up with a better offer".

So what about Mark Jackson is so bad? Plus if he coaching we don't have to hear him with Van Gundy when we WATCH games.

He's a dumb coach with no vision or imagination and misused several of his best players in GS plus he's a paranoid **** that fostered a contentious, toxic culture there.

Based on your post I did more research (glad I'm not a REAL-GM) and your assertion appears to be accurate. Looks like Curry gave a half hearted endorsement for Mark.

Once again, Ted strikes and it's all about KD. Sure there's no plan b. To me, this is why EG is still here aside from his one year left on his contract. The GM has to abide by Ted's orders so it probably didn't matter who they hired. Once he signs elsewhere, we can move on from this fantasy. If he signs a one-year deal with OKC, I can see another year of pandering to try and get KD.

Why wouldn't Luke Walton be tops on our list?

Their track record of success proves that they know what they're doing, right?

This feels like the off season they hired Flip Saunders. Doubling down on the proposition that they are just one piece away despite lack of success the year before (blamed on injuries). Trading their pick, bringing in a "win now" coach. They didn't even make its through that season before they had to start blowing it up.

While I agree, I point out Flip won only twenty-plus two straight seasons. Doubling down could take the team down for multiple years.

Honestly, if that happens maybe I can finally kick my Wizards habit for good.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I just went to this thread to ask the "why not Luke Walton" question.

But, Commander, I don't understand what point you mean to make. Please explain...

Luke Walton would get tuned out so fast here once a losing streak starts. He did a great job being the cool substitute teacher working with a top 1 or 2 team of all time, but we need the next coach to really get our core players to reach their ceilings as players. Luke hasn't shown any ability to do that.

YES!! HaHa, this is the EG money quote and his NBA GM rule to live by for all things. Maynor, he might get a better offer. Morris, better throw-in a 1st round draft pick.

How's Alvin Gentry doing this year? Succeeding with GSW's roster means very little at this point as everything was already put in place by Kerr. Walton could be a great coach but how would we know?

Cheapskate Ted will NEVER approve of that. I mean, you guys should know him well enough by now.

I think Leonsis is "positive" enough that he thinks that the Wizards still have a real shot at Durant so one would have to imagine that Leonsis might be willing to pay more for a head coach, certainly more than in the past.

True, the players do have to be in place. Gentry doesn't seem to have the pieces around him in New Orleans.

You think Ted would shell out the amount of money needed to bring in 2 proven head coaches in the league? I don't believe that for 1 second!

I said he would be willing to pay more for a head coach, not two head coaches. :D

Haha alright. I thought you were responding to me laughing off the idea of Terd hiring Brooks and D'Antoni to coach the Wiz. I think Witt was making 1.5mil/year. Those two will cost at least 6mi/year combined.

This whole situation sucked.

1.) They had to know they were going to move on from Randy before this season started, or else they wouldn't have sabotaged him by giving him a roster full of one year deals and letting him enter the final year of his own contract with no extension.

2.) In doing so, they let Randy's contract run out instead of actually firing him because they were too **** cheap.

Ernie willingly punted this season on first down.

Sorry I was typing on cell phone. I think Luke Walton has a connection to Phill Jackson and thus I would think someone that worked with him in the past would give him his first coaching job. Sorry about the poorly written post.
