Anyways, game 1 wasn't any indication of what will happen in this series. It was just one game, so don't read too much into it. As Big Z used to say, don't get too high and don't get too low.

Whiteside told me Sunday that he and his agent attempted to get a workout with the Hornets in 2014 but were unable to do so. “You know, we tried,” he said. “We tried several times. they didn’t want me. So there’s really nothing I can say about that. They said ‘No’ several times and we moved on to another team.”

This is a point of dispute, as the Hornets have previously told The Observer that Whiteside’s agent did not contact them in 2014. Whiteside believes that his hometown team turned him down, though, and whether or not it happened quite that way it looks like it is fueling him.

“Revenge never gets old,” Whiteside said.

Great first game.....

Game 2, won't be as easy. We need a better Goran on both sides of the court. He reached one to many times, he fouled and missed several shots. Deng can't be expected to be that great but he can give you those corner 3's and some great D on Marvin.

If you tell me Wade scores 16pts and Joe Johnson 11pts in a playoff game and we still win, I would call you crazy. But that is the amazing side of this roster, when the sum of it's parts are dialed in, I think we can ball with ANYONE (hear that Golden State). We can't expect Deng to get us 30+ again. Charlotte is going to block the slashers better and will attack Whiteside's space more efficiently. We'll see how ready for "prime time" we are in how we handle the adjustments and when things are not going our way. The mental part of the post-season has not started yet. That is where we fell short several times this past regular season. Can this team do it?

I really hope the team keeps the Boston game in the back of their minds throughout the playoffs. The talent is there to win this series. So glad not to see a 3rd quarter collapse in game 1. Keep pouring on the points in game 2!
