**** him to the core of his soul. pray that he opts out. your #2 point is the main issue, not his body.
Well, if he doesn't opt out, he'd be on a great salary for the team!
And I just told you, he missed several games and made an effort to come back in Utah(where Barea was also injured). That was a huge game, a playoff decider for both teams and he did this: https://youtu.be/iTkW_y3E_2w
We're all limited in information as fans, but from what I can see or could witness throughout this season: YES, he is not that guy who will always bring energy and play with an edge. He is a liability in the energy department --- this is more evident when you actually saw him still take over some games and play good d --- he can do that some games, but will disappear in others.
But he wasn't a distraction or looked like he was a bad guy. Tiny things like being on the bench, supporting everyone, talking to rookies... he has done all of that. Meaning, it did not look like he was just stealing money. And since he is on an average salary, no negative attention is on him like in Brooklyn.
But physically, he is just too fragile... this is the main problem for me. And I'm sure this also plays a huge role in making it look like he is coasting during some games. Hell, he started the pre-season hurt... and now finishes the season hurt.
In any case, I really have no idea about what the Mavs will do, other than probably be looking to sign Whiteside and then go from there. Williams will not be the top priority and his contract should be limited to a two year deal.
BY THE WAY, another important aspect. Parsons, who was an idea about a guy the Nets could sign, he is not a good pairing with someone like Williams. Parsons also lacks that "edge" to compete every game --- on defence --- these two guys together will often make your team look very very soft. Something that you hate, but Parsons may be used as a stretch 4 at times and Hollis Jefferson can pick up the slack I guess.
Well he was stealing money here. But everything you said outside of being a good teammate (he was not here), is what he did here. Play soft as hell and show up every now and then.
I have no interest in Parsons anymore. The knee issues are alarming.
