Chriss - 13.8 pts, 5.4 rebs, 53% FG, 35% 3 pt fg, 1.6 blocks, and 4.1 fouls per game.

Since Chriss is coming out after freshman year, it makes more sense to compare to Kieff's freshman year (Kieff came out after Jr year).

Markieff - 4.6 pts, 4.4 rebs, 44.8% fg, 18.8% 3pt fg, , .7 blocks, not sure about fouls...are not listed...http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/markieff-morris-1.html

Agreed, and I'm with Ghosts of Kleine, if we walk away with Brown and Chriss (or Skal), I'd consider it a win in this draft, if we draft 4th or later.

Of course, this is the year that the 13th overall pick wins the Lottery, and leaves us with bupkis...yeah, I said it, and jinx'd us, but you can't convince me that we all haven't entertained the thought of the possibility of that happening!

But in a land I like to call 'reality', we end up with the 5th and 13th overall selections, and it goes Simmons, Ingram, Bender, and Dunn, and leaves us with a choice between Brown, Hield, or Murray. But if Brown stays at Cal, then...oof...we are stuck taking a Guard, or reaching for a PF, which in that case, might as well reach for Chriss and see how it pans out...take Ellenson at 13, if still there, or another, fairly 'safe' pick like Sabonis, to offset the Chriss-bust potential.

I'm ok if Rabb stays, but Brown needs to come out. He's a top 5 pick in this draft; next year, he'd be lucky to be top 10.

If we stay at 4 I can see us reaching for a Power Forward like Rabb early and picking up a player like Luwawu with the late lotto pick. I

I'm not too concerned over his rebounding numbers at such a young age. I really think under the right development, he will increase those numbers to more than acceptable numbers. And in the meantime, Both len and chandler will more than cover any possible deficencies during his rookie tenure.

His Athleticism and explosiveness is still something we sorely need on this team though to add excitement and some electricity back to this team. I am very excited about the possabilities we have in this draft. And I really hope it plays out just as NAVDLO myself and some astute others have stated. Fingers crossed! This could be a very awesome summer for us.

I'm really worried we're going to take Skal due to our history of drafting Kentucky players (same with Murray). I don't think he'll do well in the NBA.

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Why do you say that about Skal? I am not promoting him, just still trying to figure him out.

lilfishi22 wrote:Those rebounding numbers are alarming. 8.6rpg per 40 and 10.7% rebounding rate is below average and it sits just under Channing Frye numbers. However, he does rebounding on the offensive end at a decent rate (lots of tip dunks from Youtube highlights).

It's youth though imo. He just doesn't find a body when the ball goes up, and that is coachable. He does go for rebounds and has the ability to outjump people for them as illustrated by his plus offensive rebounding numbers. It's fixable. That said, I go back and forth between Chriss, Rabb, Ellenson, etc.. There are a lot of interesting guys after Simmons and Bender at the 4 spot. I'd double down personally, with at least one of them being somebody who can back up the 5 spot in small lineups.

Im very scared of Skal. IMHO, He just isnt very fluid, its like basketball is not natural with him. Compounded with the fact that he has a slight frame and his propensity to play soft (wow, he has confidence issues in college, what more in the NBA) and i feel he has bust written all over him.

If we are to draft a PF: Id rate them thus:
Simmons
Bender
Chriss
Ellenson
Rabb

I just think he has shown the least out of all the bigs in this draft (except Bender, and I don't like him either) and doesn't warrant a lottery selection. I think there's a desire to "correct" passing on Nerlens by getting Skal who has a similar body/athleticism but wasn't nearly as impressive as a freshman. I'd rather have Rabb, Chriss, Ellenson, Poeltl, hell even Sabonis at 13. Skal is like the Archie of bigs. Sure, in the 20s, he's a great pick, but there are other high ceiling guys who have shown they have a higher floor than Skal.

Markieff was not a bad rebounder in college. It actually was considered one of his strengths. Marcus was the shooter (and better player), Kieff cleaned the glasses.

Our consolation is that if we had drafted him we probably would have ruined him anyway.

Juan Hernangomez declared for the draft.

Halfway through the ACB regular season, it's safe to say that 20-year old Juan Hernangomez (also called Juancho Hernangomez) has been the revelation of the Spanish league thus far. The 6'9 face-up power forward is putting up historic numbers with Estudiantes for a player his age. His 11.3 points ranks as the highest per game scoring average for a player under 21 since Rudy Fernandez's 13.7 ten years ago. Additionally, his 20.6 PER ranks is second best in the last decade as well (behind Nikola Mirotic), eclipsing some big names (Ricky Rubio, Tiago Splitter, Serge Ibaka, Kristaps Porzingis, Ersan Ilyasova, and his older brother Guillermo/Willy [drafted by the Knicks last June]) in the process so far.

The intrigue around Hernangomez begins with his productivity playing at the highest level of European basketball, but continues with his strong physical attributes. Standing 6'9, he has ample height for a NBA power forward, and combines that with a good frame that should continue to fill out, a long wingspan (appearing to be somewhere in the 7-foot territory), and solid athletic ability. He is a fluid athlete who plays above the rim with ease, is very light on his feet, and runs the floor with impressive speed.

If he is available at #28 Hernangomez would be a great pick.

Juancho will shoot up boards, doubt he falls that far, will likely go between our Wiz and Cavs pick I would take him ahead of Ellenson ( who CBS sports has inexplicably rising into the Top 10 in their latest mock). I said that a while ago

How is that inexplicable when espn has him at 5 and dx has him at 9? I see they have us taking Thon Maker with the Cleveland pick.

He also jumped into the top 10 in sportsngiggles rankings http://sportsngiggles.com/nba/ranking-top-ten-nba-draft-prospects/

I wouldn`t mind picking Juancho with the Wiz pick if Chris isn`t available. Very interesting prospect who is already important player in the second best national league in the world.

Saw on tweeter that Bender is the only draft eligible player that will still be 18 when the season starts. Seems like a no brainer at #3 or 4.

Juancho is kinda mixed bag for me, he plays with a lot of heart and energy and has amazing motor which will probably get him some minutes but nothing he does is particulary impressive.I like those kind of players, think any team needs those guys who does dirty work but not sure is he worthy mid 1st round selection.Maybe its me but i cant think of any skill he excels at and is NBA ready. He can shoot but he is not really a shooter or stretch PF(although he improved), he is more of opportunistic scorer than guy who can bring you buckets, he likes to switch on PnR but cant stay infront quick guards, he still lacks strength to battle NBA PFs, will be 21 when season starts and like most spanish players, likes to gamble for steals on perimeter.

I just don't get the fascination with Ellenson. I can't see that much attractive about his game at the NBA level.
